like this lad,in his cameo appearances last season and from what I could see last night(thanks Everton TV!!),solid, excellent header of the ball, old school British type centre back, good to know if we have any problems next season this lad is in and around the squad.

Wouldn't be in the slightest bit upset with a Duffy - Heitinga pairing next season.

Might possibly benefit from a season loan though, not the championship but maybe one of the promoted sides.

Yobo / Heitinga / Jagielka / Distin / Duffy

That's 5 centre backs -- obviously Yobo needs to go and we'll probably end up with 2 - 2.5mil for him.

I think Duffy would still be 4th choice, Distin has no sale value so I wouldnt mind seeing Jagielka off for 10mil ish and Duffy being backup for Distin/Heitinga....

Early days yet but I think Moyes needs to have a rethink - If Duffy is good enough then when he gets his chance he should be allowed to retain his place every week if he performs.

It,s the same for the other lads - make a mistake and you looose your place.

Distin probably only has another year at the top level. Once his pace starts to go, he'll get caught out more and more.

He started a couple of games last season (think when Baines was injured), very impressed. Likes to organise as well allways talking.

He looks very promising, and I would have absolutely no problem with him in the side now. BUT, did everyone see Davey Weir this week saying he's keeping himself fit in case we need him?!

I think we know who'll get the shout!

Im sure someone mentioned him going on loan to the championship this season..

Possibly his father who posts on here? lol.

His father has also been saying some worrying things lately about his agent being a bad egg. We can't afford to lose Duffy on a permanent deal, that's for sure.

i reckon he still has 2, he was great last year bar that mistake, but he was solid apart and was his best season for us IMO. however, reckon he'll be on the bench a lot this year so i suppose that may further his career longetivity.

agree with moyes showing cnfidence in duffy and not dropping him again if he doesnt actually make any mistakes. should be the same with all 4 as long as the mistakes aren't really frequent, which in that case would require stability.

Don't get me wrong mate, I love Distin, he's been a cracking player for us. I just think there's no way he can sustain the pace of the Premier League for as long as another two years.

Would be a good season to start bringing young Shane through.
