He looks like Phil Jagielka and the Rocks love child...

Who?

Never heard of this guy ever.

He's the starting CB for the Houston Dynamo. He is also currently 2nd in line for a CB position on the US national team though he's just cracked the team. He has been rumored via several websites to have EPL and German teams interested in him, so he is ready to make the leap to bigger and better.

He is known for his good positioning on defense, but better than that, he is very good with the ball at his feet. He tries to be creative coming out of the back - and often succeeds. He is also a decent 1 v 1 defender. Not the fastest is one of his negatives, and doesn't score much on headers I believe, but TX Bill could tell you more on that.

He's good. Again, I'm not quite sure our scouting will lead to anything, and I don't think he'd come because he'd want to start. Plus we have this guy named Shane Duffy.

But his distribution skills I'd say are better than Distin or Jagielka's (Heitinga I think has decent skills here, Cameron may be slightly more creative, don't watch him enough to be sure). However, all three have been defending in EPL games consistently of course, so they are better there than Cameron until he can prove it.

Cameron has only been a defender for the last 3 years or so. He played the midfield before that.

Which is why his distribution skills are solid. CB is his home though. Glad Houston moved him there permanently.

I love that the thumbnail of the video is of some birds massive cleavage.

'Some bird'? That's Mariah Carey!

Reading through this thread, the part where someone mentions he's not the fastest really stood out. He'd be coming to (allegedly) the fastest league in the world.

Yeah he's actually played at CB, CDM, CAM, and CF for us at some point over the past few years. Like everyone said, positioning is excellent as is his distribution, but he probably isn't the fastest. But he does make runs out of defense, which I absolutely love and something that Jags and Distin NEVER do (Johnny will occasionally but not much). If we could sell Jags for £8-10 then bring this guy in and use him and Duffman as CB cover I would be perfectly okay.

I really love this guy, but I'm sort of a homer (being from Houston and supporting the USMNT). TXBill is probably more knowledgeable than me too. Just my two cents!

Oh, I thought its name was Boobface.

Anyway, on this GC bloke, we can't really judge him until we get a look at him in the EPL or a 'better' league. We could end up having an endless Jelly-like conversation about how the strikers in the MLS are gash and makes him look good in defence.

I'm a new guy (just posted in New Signings page) who also happens to be a Dynamo fan, similar to TX Bill. Just wanted to give my opinion.

Geoff Cameron has been hurt by the manager (Dom Kinnear) shifting him around a bit too much, and I feel that if he would have been at CB for his entire career he would've already been on the national team a year or two ago. Unfortunately he just found his niche last year and got his first call-up this year. Although he only has a few caps, he is widely-regarded as the next in line for the CB job, he may even be considered the starter in a few months, as Carlos Bocanegra and Oguchi Oneywu are going down hill. As the for the player himself, he has great passing ability and vision and is miles more creative than Distin or Jagielka. However some of his runs, could leave the other CB a bit exposed, but Moyes can fix that. He can pass out of pressure, and is great in the air. Good speed and strength, but would probably need a few months to adjust his playing style. Aggressive, hardworking, and intense all describe him. Overall, a good player, who could possibly take over for Distin in a few years with the right attitude. Though I could be overrating him because I'm a Dynamo supporter.

Don't really know how a work permit is possible, unless he has a relative somewhere I don't know about.

He's a good player. Too good for MLS. Hurt by his coach who moved him around endlessly (striker, midfielder...). Don't really think Everton is possible at the moment for him.
