Nah, there were plenty of people who wanted to keep them, nothing to do with hindsight. Getting Moyes in and giving him the say on transfers whilst bringing his ex Everton buddy in as Director of recruitment is hardly a new regime is it?!Most fans wanted Thelwell gone once the new owners took over. It’s only in hindsight people are now seeing that he made good signings in a difficult situation.
Everyone wanted a new regime and replace those under Kenwright and Moshiri. The new owners have gone out and done that. It’s just gonna take time to work.
Stay in the division long enough for the owners to make a good profitEverything post-Chelsea has been tremendously disappointing. As I’ve mentioned before, his failure to utilise the squad earlier in the season (or sign more appropriate players) has cost us in the run in. Outside of the first five minutes, at no point today did we look like a hungry team with everything to play for, chasing a massive prize in European qualification. Passive, hopeful, safe. And with players as poor as some of ours, the inevitable happens.
I’m very scared of giving him another transfer window, but it’s going to happen. His “oh well, we tried, nice to be close hey!” after this game are grating after telling us all season the goal is Europe.
I would say we have performed precisely to expectations this season. No more, no less. But his selections and developments have not at all put us in a position in which we are likely to be better next season, and I can’t be sure another summer window will do that either. And if that’s the case, what’s the point of any of this?
Some people think they are setting standards and being very fair but firm when they claim Moyes has to achieve Europe or go far in cups next season. But the more likely outcome of their "fairness" is he wastes another 100m plus and saddles us with has-beens on huge salaries before he departs.Everything post-Chelsea has been tremendously disappointing. Season’s not over, if they win the Europa Conference it’ll be only the second major trophy in their history and the first European trophy ever. That my any reasonable assessment is not an awful season.Palace have had an awful season. In the final of the Papa John’s Fisher Price Dancing on Ice Cup but embarrassingly early FA Cup exit to a non league side and 15th in the table.
That's the worry, we come 16th next season, he leaves and we're saddled with an old squad and no money for the new manager. Some people think they are setting standards and being very fair but firm when they claim Moyes has to achieve Europe or go far in cups next season. This is not a risk I would take as "stability" is not a big enough upside.
Yep people thinking there’s no downside to keeping Moyes on are defying all logical thought and are deluded. Some people think they are setting standards and being very fair but firm when they claim Moyes has to achieve Europe or go far in cups next season. Sadly, this is most likely the answer.Stay in the division long enough for the owners to make a good profit

Ancelotti flattered to deceive. Did the same as Moyes in the Prem. Doubt he'd come anyway. We ain’t going down with Pickford Branthwaite Garner KDH Beto down the spine. Coventry and Ipswich are no great shakes and all the play off teams look weak.
I really don’t see what the risk of rolling the dice to try and get a better manager would be.
Go out and throw a load of money at any of Pochettino Glasner Mancini Ancelotti Nagelsmann Fabregas Mourinho after the World Cup.
We’re going nowhere under Moyes
Perfectly summarized.Moyes has hardly helped himself with that though, he runs his favourites into the ground and gives everyone else a few minutes. He watches on as the players get tired and in most games he still has subs he can make but doesn’t. He’s done it all season, he did it in his first spell, he did it at West Ham, it’s infuriating. He only ever gives meaningful minutes to some players if his hand is forced. He made his own bed this season with his reluctance to utilise an improved squad from last season and to ostracise players, play our best available CB at RB for most of the season so Keane and Tarkowski have to waddle about next to each other and Dwight McNeil has played a scandalous amount of minutes when he should have been out the door.
I’m also convinced he works out his subs before a ball has been kicked.
The benchmark shouldn't be the past few years. Having to make a profit every window for about 5 years. Point deductions. Benitez, Lampard, Dyche. All symptoms of a chaotic club under Moshiri.
The only way was up.
For me, we'll never achieve anything of genuine significance with David Moyes.
It could be said that Moyes has done a good job of 'pouring the concrete slab' - a foundationWe shouldn't be rebuilding the club under him.
