2025/26 David Moyes

We'll never be good enough for Moyes. He'll always see us as the problem and not him. No amount of spending will see that he's made accountable.

This fellers looking after his own affairs and what's best for Everton never comes into it.

Surely there cant be anyone still on board and conned by this feller now?

His talent at this club has been to drive a narrative that we're lucky to have him. He's been a genius at that, like.

If he resigned this summer and said: 'there you go'. Decent foundations for a better manager ti build on', Ild tip my hat to him.

But there's no chance of that from this feller. He'll be on the Everton gravy train for years to come.

We need to make best use of the money we are allowed to spend before breaching ffp. Wasting money on sacking a competent manager and all his staff is just wasteful.

I think it's logical to say give the manager next season due to the progress we've made. If we sign better players and we don't kick on then get rid.

People need to look at the likes of the full backs, centre halves, strikers and realise this is a mid table team.

We signed better players and never kicked on.

He is not blooding the youngsters at all.

If getting knocked out in the 3rd round of the FA Cup instead of the 4th your idea of progression?

We aren’t getting Glasner or iriola

It’s moyes.

As @Delargeinho said it’s more frustrating we’ve been so close to get to it and didnt

No way it was a target till it looked
Possible

Nxt season it will be
Why couldn’t we get Glasner or Iraola. We got Ancelotti. Throw enough money at a manager, show them you mean business and they will come

Our fanbase is much too quick to dumb down expectations. Hopefully our owners show ambition - jury is out on that.

Jam tomorrow. Always jam tomorrow. For Evertonians, tomorrow never comes.

We'll always be a penny short and a day late with this fella.

If that’s the merit all others have failed

JR aside
They have all failed. Every one of them. Our recruitment of managers has probably been our biggest problem in that time period. In thirty years the only managers that we have recruited with any track record of success were Ancelotti, who binned us of as soon as a big team came calling, and, I can't believe I'm saying his name, Rafael Benitez, who was already washed up and could never be a success here because of his baggage. Johnson, Kenwright, Moshiri and, dare I say it, the Friedkins have all lacked the vision and the courage to aspire for glory at this club.

I'm sure someone will be along to place thirty years of failure at the door of the 200 odd players we've had in that time but poor management in both the boardroom and the changing room is what has reduced this club to irrelevance. If we don't change now, then when?

….there’s a lot of people on here who need to prepare for being very disappointed as far as next season’s manager is concerned ;)
I can cope with him boring us to another 12th placed finish next season before leaving, but I am worried he'll piss away another £150 million on players with no resale value thereby ensuring no progress for the next 5 years.

Fair play to Moyes who has got us up the table in a very poor standard of a league this season. He has done a good job, his remit if you like, we have players capable of winning football matches now, but now I feel it's time we shake hands and move forward.

We can't be 1-0 and 2-1 up today and hold back. We held back and it cost us twice.

Man City was a hard one to take. Brentford and West Ham, we could have done better.

Nothing against Moyes but this is football and I'd like to think he's done what was asked.

But the overall league finishes and stability of the club were so much better under Moyes. People wanting to get rid of the manager expecting next year to be better if we do are probably going to be in for a shock.
This is the new Everton mantra, it is no longer nil satis nisi optimium, it is be careful what you wish for. Accept mediocrity or it might be worse. What a way to live. No thanks.

The recruitment is the main concern if Moyes stays. Last summer was a complete mess and can't happen again. We just can't be spending big money on players who aren't going to be used. Whatever process we used last summer was a total failure and can't be used again.

If the manager doesn't fancy a player or won't use them, then he can't give final sign off. The manager equally cannot be demanding that high fees are spent on older players with little or no resale value.

Equally, we can't have the recruitment team suggesting we spend big money on players who don't improve the team. They need to identify attacking players far better and stop targeting players with no goal threat.

We should be far further forward than we are after last summers spending.
