2025/26 David Moyes

Self fulfilling prophecy. He knows he can’t get over the line, the fans know it, the players know it, so that’s what happens.

Every single time we’ve looked at Europe in the face this season we’ve followed it up with an abysmal run of form. We’ve only really produced results every time the chance has gone away.

A manager and team who can’t deal with a shred of expectation.

Yet he's still a manager that has won more than than this club for the last 30 years.

I think we need to be thankful to Moyes but also think about life after him too. And if the right manager is available I would go it. If not then stick with him for another season.
Massive decision indeed from TFG...in a normal season, he would be a no brainer for him to continue...but with the availability of top managers at the end of the season, makes it a very tough decision.

I actually do love the stability, especially compared to recent seasons

It’s depressing that we’ve missed out on Europe, but we’re in a much better place now than where we were when Moyes came in

There’s cause for optimism

We haven’t done it this season but I believe we can in the future, it just won’t be with Moyes at the helm

Thank him for a solid job, maybe even move him upstairs, but if we’re going to get where we hope this club will then we need a different person calling the shots

But yeah, it’s nice to going into the last two games actually disappointed that we didn’t make Europe and being in a position where it could tangibly happen in the not too distant future

That’s definite progress

Progress on what? Our lowest ebb with a mountain of mitigating circumstances?

I didnt want Moyes back because I knew he'd be here for years and long term - that'll be massively counterproductive.

What other team in the league would take him this season?

Or better yet what other team would employ a manager who'd been there over a decade without winning anything for a rebuild?

We had a chance last summer to really put a bolt of energy through the club but we looked backwards.

Stop this move him upstairs talk, he'd never agree to it and a new manager wouldn't want him that involved either especially if we change our playing ethos

Rubbish recruitment. Players not ready for the start of the season (Kinnear’s own words). Abysmal home record. Both derbies surrendered in a cowardly manner. Both cups treated like an inconvenience and out to bottom half prem opposition. And now from a position where it was easier to qualify for Europe than not we’ve managed to bottle our way out of this one as well.

Well done Everton, another year of absolutely nothing for the fanbase to get excited about. You never fail to completely screw us do you.
