It was an exciting match and we went toe-to-toe with them in the second half. Need to play aggressively like that more often.

There are so many flaws in the starting eleven that it's almost reassuring. Just need decent recruitment this summer...

Anyone would have took a draw before the match. But it's not a good point losing 2 when your 3-1 up so late. Not for me anyway

Yes at 3-1 but that early 2nd goal was farcical the two slowest CBs surprisingly got out paced ..

Exactly. For an inferior team like Everton to beat a side like City, the only real hope is to capitalise when having a purple patch and then game managing that advantage. Game management does not require special talent or ability. Everything went our way to get to 3-1. It's a dreadful indictment of the manager, but particularly the players, to throw away the win from there. Especially with 7 minutes of normal time left. That, to me, says it was too much for us. It shows you where we are mentally: unprepared for such a scenario. There was no smarts, no killing the game, no dark arts. Just rabbits crushed by an oncoming truck of their own inferiority.

Had we gone toe-to-toe and come from 1-3 down to rescue a point, that would have been the opposite story. That would have shown resilience and defiance. What we saw last night was chaos leading to the usual capitulation.

City are better than us. It's not a shock they scored three. What is disappointing - and telling - is when we had a two-goal lead to protect for 15 minutes, we still couldn't see it out. No matter how we dice it, that's weak and reflects really poorly on those involved. It tells you they are incapable of achieving more than the bare sum of their parts. 11th it is.

We always knew that if City got a 2nd they may well get the 3rd. I hoped if we did concede that 2nd, it would be final minute, Not bloody 60 odd seconds after we got 3rd. It always felt like we would have to hang on, but off course we should have had that pen to go 4-2

I'm increasingly of the opinion that we need a new CB as well. Tarks has looked to be in marked decline to me, this season, and I know everyone is on the Keane train now but I still think he is rubbish. Not Stones, though, another crocked "classy" centre half is not what we need.

They have to come up with something, as it can't simply be that there wasn't enough contact. That explanation simply wouldn't stand up, so they have to make up something else.

It was obvious as to which way it was going to go with the officials the moment that They kicked the ball away, delaying the restart in the early minutes and the ref just shrugged his shoulders, yet was always on our back telling us to get a move on.

We had a hell of a chance just 2 weeks ago when we could have been 2 points off 5th. The 5points dropped in 6 games late the last month or so have been so costly. We should have been looking down on teams below us. not up hoping everything goes our way. It's hard when Everton need one team's result to go our way if we won, never mind an x amount

I read this morning that the Rohl pen not given because the ball wasn't in play at the time. So it would seem that as soon as the ball goes out of play, we should rugby tackle entire teams.

But we're not making this charge for Europe easy on ourselves. Lets hope the same fighting spirit is evident in the next 3 fixtures as was on show in the second half yesterday.

I think the premier league is basically trolling us at this point. Two games in a row absolutely nailed on penalties not given. The action taken by Silva meant that Rohl was on the deck when the ball came in an unable to challenge for the ball. It's utterly corrupt.
