2025/26 David Moyes

I don’t understand his attitude in the post match conference with being a little dismissive about Europe. Despite the disappointments lately we are still only three points behind Brentford with the same number of games played and finishing eighth could possibly be enough to qualify?
He's dismissed it all year because he is a loser who is petrified of any sort of pressure or expectation

And anothet simple fact of the matter is Moyes only made changes today because of Gana's injury and McNeil's ongoing battle with a nasty bout of " notverygooditus" and three games in a row we have been incapable of basic defending at the end...not blaming Moyes for all the late goals but if it is a pattern, maybe the manager can address it???
And in that time we have been without our best central defender, in Branthwaite.
Again caused by weaknesses in the squad..
Conceded to 2 world class goals.
What can Moyes do about that?
The one I would be concerned about, is when we switched off, immediately after we scored, caused by lack of concentration.

For all the criticisms the lad is joint leading scorer with 8 goals.
Probably about right for a work in progress and the fee.
I for one think there is a player in there.
However, this is Everton and a scapegoat is always needed.
Keane, McNeil, Beto, Barry.
See the pattern?
None of them are as bad, as they are made out to be.
They are average PL players, who can do a job at this level.
To push on we need a couple of players with tje quality of a Doku and they dont come cheap.

Poor game plan and game management and that's on the manager.

The first half was utterly appalling. One of the worst I've seen from us and there's no excuse for being so pathetically set up in a home game.

The second half was better but we were still helped hugely by the opposition gifting us opportunities and ultimately the goals. Once in that position of 3-1 up we saw the game out terribly and the fact that it's the 3rd game in a row it's happened indicates it's on both manager and players.

It's not been good enough recently and you can't give it the big 'un in the media about Europe and then be so feeble in the matches.

There's no excuse for taking 2 points from 12 when we were in great positions to take 6 from 12 and arguably when you're going for Europe, 6 from 12 isn't enough anyway.

Or as manager, he could have ensured we brought a Rb in during the two windows he has had and not wasted money on giving Seamus a new contract?
In the summer we needed much more attacking quality, which was achieved via signing KDH and Grealish.
There were too many weaknesses in the squad to address in one window.
You still haven't told me who you would have played there, last night?

If he stays for next season there needs to be a serious discussion over the playing squad straight after the final game. He doesn't trust quite a few of them and that has cost us dearly, as he hasn't made enough substitutions and then when he feels he has to, like last night, the players just aren't ready to come in. He needs to agree to use 16 players in every match, and the club as a whole needs 22 players that he trusts to do a job. That means losing money on some of them, but if he stays as manager and we want to progress it needs sorting.

I think there seems to be a lot of people who have reached the point where it's very difficult for them to give the manager recognition for anything positive. If this is the feeling across the fan base then I think he should leave in the summer as it'll turn toxic very early next season.

For me it's a shame as I think he's done a good job and 10th isn't a bad reflection of the squad we have and where we've been as a club for the past 5 years.

Any would be manager coming in isn't going to have it easy either. People say they're willing to sacrifice league position next season providing we play the young players. I have my doubts on whether that'll be the case if we sit even lower than we do now this time next year.

…..I partly agree but I do think he’s often reluctant to utilise players he does trust, particularly Rohl, Iroegbunam and Armstrong. I’d say those three have earned the managers trust but still fail to get game time despite deserving it.

He’s done a fine job and another 12 months is ideal but I do think he could freshen things up at times, particularly utilising those three. In his podcast, Michael Keane referred to how good Ancelotti was at this aspect of selection, it did get me thinking that players should be rewarded if they earn game time.

I’m coming to the conclusion that leaving him in his job is more damaging than gambling on an ambitious manager. We spent £100m+ last summer and the only players he’s regularly picked from that outlay have been Grealish and KDH. Why spend more this summer? It’s looking like we’re only going to end up a few points better off last season and in roughly the same league position. Moyes was talking guff at the end of last season about this season being ‘transformational.’ Hes massively underachieved against his own criteria.
If we sign young players then Moyes refuses to play them, now we’re being linked with players around 30 who are crocked, will be on massive wages and have no resale value like Stones and White. These are obviously ‘Moyes picks.’

I think the biggest problem is we haven't had enough games - especially in this half of the season. It's been so long between matches that as a manager you're probably less inclined to move things around and instead play what you think is your best team.

The squad isn't huge but it's definitely a lot bigger than what it would have been 10/15 years ago.

Or when we find ourselves in 17th early doors without a win in 6. The trauma will be revisited. This club is no place to roll the dice just yet.

No it wasn’t. 10 players from the squad that finished 13th left.
Its like they are living in their own Truth Social for Everton...

Of an age where own opinion wast at least based in facts not brain farted out for clicks.

Indeed coming here was once a daily thing is now weekly and Everton FC is better experience for it...
