23/24 Season versus the current season.

I think the points deduction put a different slant on it. Lash 10 point deduction this season and we'd have been in a scrap and the "stability" people have enjoyed wouldnt have exist.

I mean that’s because Spurs and West Ham are trying to stay up rather than Luton Town, and they have way more points.

Talking feelings/slants on a season though - for the majority of this season, certainly around the time we had deductions through to match week 20+ anyway - the bottom 3 this season actually had less points than the seasons we were battling against it.

Ultimately - that season we earned the points for 12th but we couldn't enjoy the stability we enjoy now, because of a points deduction that gives a feeling we've been fighting relegation for perhaps longer than we really have

Valid point that.

the points deduction shot a massive rocket up the players and manager, we went on our best run of form following that

then didnt win a game for 3 months

i don’t think you can say we finish xxxx without the points deduction because that absolutely changed the way we played
This 100%. Won 3 out of 3 and maybe would have been 4 had Garnacho not scored a worldie. It definitely galvanised the team and fans.

Easiest month of dyches job that. As seen from before and after that spell, he didn’t know how to motivate the players. That 4 games, the players were motivated themselves and none of that was because of anything Dyche did.

Think that's when Dyche realised he'd lost the dressing room.

They certainly weren't playing for him at that point, So he came back with the bleep tests and knocked the stuffing out of them..

I’ve heard it all now. The points deduction saved us from relegation. 😂
Except the fact Luton Burnley and Sheffield were so crap would have saved us from the points deduction even if we had lost those 3 games.as we still would have been 5 points clear.

Some crazy reaches in here.

The manager lost the dressing room as evidenced by the players winning 4 in a row.

A squad so poor they’d been in two successive relegation battles motivated themselves without any input from the manager to win 4 pl games on the spin including Newcastle and Chelsea. Obviously despite having this uncanny self agency, every time they didn’t motivate themselves that was the managers fault

some of these post are almost the reverse of the quote Dyche gets mocked for. If you take all the wins out it was actually rubbish.

Some of you should apply to join Mensa. What brilliant takes.

I see the Dychettes are finding this very simple concept hilarious.

I wonder if they would accept that Leicester imploding had something to do with their points deduction. Or can a points deduction only affect a teams performance negatively?
