2025/26 David Moyes

I'm not saying he should be making the calls, I'm saying he should keep his eye on what Moyes doing.
He is the man on the ground, the buck will stop with him.

He never brought Moyes in, so no romanticism between the 2. His role is for the clubs best Interest, and heading back to a possibly bloated squad of miss matches ( Which we just moved away from ) Isn't the best interest of the club.

I don't personally know what is going on, but his job is moving us forward not backwards.

If Moyes heads off at the end of his contract, you really need to be able to hand over a workable squad to the kind of manager/coach that you should already know that you want for the next step.

Maybe Moyes has a sudden change in approach and we bring in the right players for the glaringly obvious weaknesses in our squad, if so fair play to him. But the decisions in this window is massive, look at clubs that have messed up 2 windows.

Just look at Newcastle with 1 messed up window, no europe next season, players wanting out, fans wanting manager out.
That appeal has just been flushed down the drain.

Look at spurs 🤷‍♂️

This Window worries me alot, so maybe I'm going over the top. But Kinnear should be thinking Everton, not Moyes.
We bought a Data/Analytics company because of Kinnear.

You said;

'Kinnear really needs to be looking at the players being put to him before he opens the purse.'

I read that as him making the ultimate call. A CEO will have involvement across all areas of the business but I dont understand why people would say its his call.

Sorry that other response was just me waffling, without a DOF who else does it fall to other than Kinnear

Moyes.

He doesnt like DOF model, it was legged.

We didn't have a DOF first time under Moyes. We dont go praising a scouting department of a CEO at the time for his transfers then.

As Moyes an the CEO have said. Moyes makes the final call, and in the absence of a DOF, rightly so.

The same Rooney that had to pay damages for lying about Moyes in his book?
Or Ferdinand, Vidic etc were lying….
I think there have been too many cases of senior players in squads finishing managers for it to be untrue. If you listen to any of the ex United player podcasts it's evident that Ferguson and Moyes had totally different management styles which Giggs, Ferdinand,Evra and Van Persie weren't going to warm to.

He'd be a decent choice but I honestly think we need another season of finishing+- 10th place under Moyes. Right now we are a team with one season of stability after far too many with our feet hanging over the drop.
I could understand this more if we weren't going to be spending a significant amount this summer, setting the foundations for the next 5-10 years.

It's funny how you don't really know but are happy to say that you don't believe Moyes signed Dibling. It's what happens every time posters defend a manager on here, it happened with Dyche, it happened with Benitez, it's happening with Moyes. The players that haven't done well are not the choice of the manager but the players that do do well are only here because of the manager. Regular as clockwork and utter nonsense.

Here's a direct quote from Moyes saying he's in charge of transfers btw - https://www.toffeeweb.com/season/25-26/news/47171.html
I’ve got the final say if we want to buy a player or we don’t want to buy a player. But I get told by my superiors how much we’ve got to spend and what we’ve got available and I have to work off those thoughts,”
That's not exactly the same thing as having 100% control.

I wasn't meaning he makes the call on the players, but he opens the purse.
I would like to believe he has a direction in place and other people around him that can help implement regardless of Moyes.

Moyes shouldn't be able to hold us over the Barrell or something is seriously going wrong already.

A lot of Moyes chatting recently doesn't fill me with hope.

Get a DOF back in the Building if Kinnear is that out of his depth

Will we have a significant amount and will it attract the players we want? Grealish, his fitness after his injury and his wage if we do negotiate a fee with City will have a lot to do with the coming window. Plus if we persist with Barry and Dibling.

We will absolutely be spending a significant amount. Been the line since January that they were keeping their powder dry then to go big in summer. That's since been reiterated by a few journalists.

Grealish we will sign for a not massive amount and also expect he will accept taking a wage cut (though obviously will still be on a big wage).
Barry will get another season, and Beto will be the one that goes purely due to his contract being up and not being good enough for a new contract.

Dibling I think will most likely be properly integrated into the team next season, in the way that we were expecting him to be this season.

The big question is will we be able to attract the players we want as you say. I think depends on what kind of team we're trying to build. I dont think Moyes will have any trouble bringing in the type of players that he seemingly wants
- experienced English players in the vein of Grealish and KDH. If we're looking to go for more high potential players from abroad then I think he might run into the same problems he did last summer.

Player does well = Moyes
Player doesn’t play/plays poorly = Rhombus-toothed Kinnear

For reference Moyes and Angus can be switched for Dyche and Thelwell to suit.

If that’s the case, there’s basically no reason to spend big in the summer. It’d be total lunacy to throw money at Moyes and let him buy his targets just to finish mid-table.

It’s enough control to take responsibility for the players bought under his “final say”. He could simply say “no.”

The CFO really needs to be finding us better quality fullbacks.

It was clear Thelwell was calling the shots in the post Moshiri period.

I think Kinnear signs the cheques now. Moyes is inc Harte of recruitment at Everton Otherwise he wouldn’t be here.
