2025/26 David Moyes

I've said Glasner numerous times on here.

We will have plenty of managers willing to come to us due to the wages we offer.
Glasner I think is going on to bigger things than us. And if we are only going to attract a manager by offering ridiculous money that's a recipe for another Spanish waiter/ Koeman appointment.

Who really knows what goes on in the transfer committee meetings. Would Moyes really come out and say he has little to no input in transfer transactions? Saying that I've never seen a verified link showing him clearly stating he does have the final say.
It's funny how you don't really know but are happy to say that you don't believe Moyes signed Dibling. It's what happens every time posters defend a manager on here, it happened with Dyche, it happened with Benitez, it's happening with Moyes. The players that haven't done well are not the choice of the manager but the players that do do well are only here because of the manager. Regular as clockwork and utter nonsense.

Here's a direct quote from Moyes saying he's in charge of transfers btw - https://www.toffeeweb.com/season/25-26/news/47171.html

Our previous CEO's have worked over multiple Managers.
You always have to back the manager you are bringing in to start with, or why are you bringing them in. But he is the one that should be looking in depth to what the Manager is serving up, The CEO isn't there to kiss the backside of the Manager, he's there to make sure the club are heading in the right direction.

We've already had one mess of a window, his job will be on the line if he backs another mess of a spend.

But you've decided the CEO is the DOF.

Why should a CEO be making the call over Moyes on transfers?

Would we have expected that from Elstone, Wyness, Baxendale etc?

What credentials has a guy in marketing etc got over Moyes.

Maybe Google over here in Spain operates differently but whenever I search for video of him saying he has the final say the search results don't show anything. Do I believe reported quotes from the media? He well may have had some input in the signing of Dibling but it's not his fault that Dibling has been mostly anonymous while on the pitch.

It’s in his interest to have us nervous about our status. If he can stave off the idea that stability has been achieved, he can continue to dupe people.

Mediocrity Moyes is playing a blinder.
It's a 2 pronged attack. The first is to make us think that he has brought stability and if he leaves it will all collapse and we'll get relegated. The second is to justify the fact that he's refused to play Aznou, Armstrong, Rohl, Dibling and Alcaraz by saying he can't risk it due to the paper thin margin between relegation and European qualification. It's typical of that type of manager and could have been said by Dyche and Allardyce who were/are very similar managers.

He’d won the Europa League only a couple of years before joining Palace, so it’s hardly mad to suggest we could attract him. I never wanted Koeman or FSW, but I’d definitely take Glasner.

I'm not saying he should be making the calls, I'm saying he should keep his eye on what Moyes doing.
He is the man on the ground, the buck will stop with him.

He never brought Moyes in, so no romanticism between the 2. His role is for the clubs best Interest, and heading back to a possibly bloated squad of miss matches ( Which we just moved away from ) Isn't the best interest of the club.

I don't personally know what is going on, but his job is moving us forward not backwards.

If Moyes heads off at the end of his contract, you really need to be able to hand over a workable squad to the kind of manager/coach that you should already know that you want for the next step.

Maybe Moyes has a sudden change in approach and we bring in the right players for the glaringly obvious weaknesses in our squad, if so fair play to him. But the decisions in this window is massive, look at clubs that have messed up 2 windows.

Just look at Newcastle with 1 messed up window, no europe next season, players wanting out, fans wanting manager out.
That appeal has just been flushed down the drain.

Look at spurs 🤷‍♂️

This Window worries me alot, so maybe I'm going over the top. But Kinnear should be thinking Everton, not Moyes.
We bought a Data/Analytics company because of Kinnear.

Sorry that other response was just me waffling, without a DOF who else does it fall to other than Kinnear

He'd be a decent choice but I honestly think we need another season of finishing+- 10th place under Moyes. Right now we are a team with one season of stability after far too many with our feet hanging over the drop.
