In recent years we've generally been in the habit of only selling our best or worst players. It's effectively either been the ones worth the most money or the ones we've decided just aren't in our plans at all who get moved on, and anyone in between is just automatically kept. If we want to have success with a player trading model (as recent articles from club friendly journalists have suggested) we probably need to get better at moving on the people in the middle instead, where we can raise money by selling decent players and replacing them for less without it having too much of an impact. The likes of Beto (current scoring spree notwithstanding), O'Brien, Iroegbunam, McNeil, Mykolenko etc would be potential candidates for that at the moment. He's basically our only sellable asset along with Garner due to Branthwaite looking like a bit of a crock. It will be interesting to see what decision is made over his future as there will be interest and we won't be able to keep splurging money with no sales.
I think the club needs to be brave - but only when they have the recruitment side sorted out. I wouldn't remotely trust Moyes and Kinnear - the overseers of last summer's debacle - to spend any windfall well.He is under contract for 3 more years and if there isn't a minimum fee release clause then he will only be sold if another club meets the valuation of Everton football club.
Given that Elanga (11 goals in 74 premier league games for Notts Forest) and Kudus (13 goals in 65 premier league games for West Ham) were both reportedly sold for £55 million last summer then Ndaiye (15 goals in 58 premier league games for Everton) will surely be valued at the very least around £60 million and more likely £65-70 million as that's his market value is based on similar players with poorer returns. Elanga has 0 goals in 28 premier league performances for Newcastle this season which reflects what a truly dreadful signing he was as most of us predicted on here.
Elanga will be 23 years old whilst both Ndaiye and Kudus will be 26 years old in September.
If Ndaiye is sold I would expect a fee in the region of at least £60-£70 million. Given he was reportedly signed for just over £15 million then that would do absolute wonders for FFP/PSR and really open the floodgates to spend big in the summer.
I would rather keep him but just making the point that if he's sold it would be for a huge fee.
Yeah, that's completely fair. We did try that with McNeil and hopefully we try it again with him and Myko this summer. In recent years we've generally been in the habit of only selling our best or worst players. How do you know that?Off in the summer and don't blame him, at least we will make a profit on him to spend on players the manager doesn't want
He plays alongside Dwight McNeil and Thierno Barry mate. You could put prime Thierry Henry in his place and he'd get about the same.Only one non-penalty goal for us since November by the way
I love him and he is a terrific footballer but he needs to be more of a consistent goal threat
Especially if he has a massive World Cup. The group of death is as much an opportunity as anything. He won't be here next season. He'll be looking for Europe. And why wouldn't he? Can't fault ambition.
That said, did nothing to earn it here lately, mind.
I pin 0% of the blame on him.Only one non-penalty goal for us since November by the way

probably because he has 3 players constantly marking him with zero support from fullbacks or striking positionsOnly one non-penalty goal for us since November by the way

Garner isn't much of a sellable asset. You genuinely think teams are going to come to offer £50m for him when he rarely scores or assists? He's basically our only sellable asset along with Garner due to Branthwaite looking like a bit of a crock. It will be interesting to see what decision is made over his future as there will be interest and we won't be able to keep splurging money with no sales.
