2025/26 Iliman Ndiaye

keep replaying him absolutely smashing the spare ball into the east stand after the goal

it was right up there as one of the greatest falls of all time, until var got involved

He's basically our only sellable asset along with Garner due to Branthwaite looking like a bit of a crock. It will be interesting to see what decision is made over his future as there will be interest and we won't be able to keep splurging money with no sales.
In recent years we've generally been in the habit of only selling our best or worst players. It's effectively either been the ones worth the most money or the ones we've decided just aren't in our plans at all who get moved on, and anyone in between is just automatically kept. If we want to have success with a player trading model (as recent articles from club friendly journalists have suggested) we probably need to get better at moving on the people in the middle instead, where we can raise money by selling decent players and replacing them for less without it having too much of an impact. The likes of Beto (current scoring spree notwithstanding), O'Brien, Iroegbunam, McNeil, Mykolenko etc would be potential candidates for that at the moment.

He is under contract for 3 more years and if there isn't a minimum fee release clause then he will only be sold if another club meets the valuation of Everton football club.

Given that Elanga (11 goals in 74 premier league games for Notts Forest) and Kudus (13 goals in 65 premier league games for West Ham) were both reportedly sold for £55 million last summer then Ndaiye (15 goals in 58 premier league games for Everton) will surely be valued at the very least around £60 million and more likely £65-70 million as that's his market value is based on similar players with poorer returns. Elanga has 0 goals in 28 premier league performances for Newcastle this season which reflects what a truly dreadful signing he was as most of us predicted on here.

Elanga will be 23 years old whilst both Ndaiye and Kudus will be 26 years old in September.

If Ndaiye is sold I would expect a fee in the region of at least £60-£70 million. Given he was reportedly signed for just over £15 million then that would do absolute wonders for FFP/PSR and really open the floodgates to spend big in the summer.

I would rather keep him but just making the point that if he's sold it would be for a huge fee.
I think the club needs to be brave - but only when they have the recruitment side sorted out. I wouldn't remotely trust Moyes and Kinnear - the overseers of last summer's debacle - to spend any windfall well.

On Ndiaye, I would like to keep him. But if we had a competent recruitment team in place, we are going to have to get creative in the market to take the next step up. I would suggest nobody in our side is irreplaceable. Assuming we keep Pickford and KDH - and a crocked Branthwaite is going nowhere - that leaves big decisions to be made on Ndiaye and Grealish for different reasons.

Yeah, that's completely fair. We did try that with McNeil and hopefully we try it again with him and Myko this summer.

I’m still not over that goal being disallowed (even though it was rightly disallowed)
The celebrations were perfect and he is our history maker, first and last goals at Goodison and HD respectively so it would’ve been fitting for him to get the first Derby goal too

It so quickly went from seeing him screaming ‘we built this city’ into the crowd, to var, to kick off, to one down.

So deflating.

He won't be here next season. He'll be looking for Europe. And why wouldn't he? Can't fault ambition.

That said, did nothing to earn it here lately, mind.

Only one non-penalty goal for us since November by the way

I love him and he is a terrific footballer but he needs to be more of a consistent goal threat
I pin 0% of the blame on him.

Look at the midfield apart from Dewsbury-Hall: they offer absolutely nothing going forward, and that includes Garner who is supposedly having an amazing season.

From Gueye and Garner you're guaranteed about 2 goals a season maximum, certainly no more than 5 between them (currently 4).

You'll also get about the same number of killer through balls, which is a pitiful number.

McNeil, no need to waste words on him.

Then behind Ndiaye you have a left back who should be consistently supporting him down the left wing by overlapping. We don't have that: We have a 7/10 deferring left back who is 2/10 when attacking.

Ahead of Ndiaye, you have a very poor striker in Beto, and a striker in Barry who would not get near any other starting XI in the division — including full those teams already relegated.

Genuinely what's he supposed to do? He always creates space, wins free kicks, takes on 3/4/5 players. But he can't do it all himself.

You have a manager who refuses to try a new formation or give other players an extended run in the side, a luxury afforded to the likes of McNeil who has been as bad as it gets.

He and Dewsbury-Hall have carried Everton this season and we'd probably have been relegated without them.

probably because he has 3 players constantly marking him with zero support from fullbacks or striking positions 🤔

other teams know stick 3 on him as the rest are no threat

Garner isn't much of a sellable asset. You genuinely think teams are going to come to offer £50m for him when he rarely scores or assists?

He's a very tidy player who stands out in a truly awful Everton side.

Anderson of Forest is three times the player.
