They were mostly 10s thoughDidn’t we try something similar with Koeman 10 years ago & it’s taken until now to recover financially.

Fact is, Everton needs to be a club whose first eleven is mostly composed of senior pros with a sprinkling of younger talent. This is not a club that should lower itself to being a development side or finishing school.
Moyes understands this.
All these people who obsess over player trading can go boil their heads. This isn’t Football Manager.

Tbf our recent appointments were after an unplanned sacking and Real Madrid plucking, though we do seem to drag things out a bit much alright. Throw back to Drama Bill's deadline day approach perhaps? We need to be ahead of the curve on things. That's where we have been failing dreadfully pre-TFG. That includes transfers and managerial appointments. Look how smoothly Bournemouth navigated the transfer of Semenyo out and Raya in, or Iraola out and Rose in. We need to be better at doing that.
I'm worried we won't coordinate Moyes' exit smoothly and we will lose out on a good manager because he's been picked up by someone else.
….i’m a huge believer in players earning game time, it’s not some perfectly magical world where you just play footballers until they become good as one poster seems to think.
Saying that, something in the Michael Keane podcast (well worth a listen) resonated. Keane said something along the lines of ‘Ancelotti was brilliant at keeping players happy by rotating, the best I’ve ever played under’. I understand why Moyes picks the X1 he thinks will best get a result but I also think it useful to freshen things up occasionally, Rohl and Armstrong in particular have deserved that.
Everton needs to be a club that wins trophies, plays in the champions league, wins derbies, and wins big games against big opposition. Couldn’t care less about the age profile of the team.
Moyes does not understand this unfortunately. He’s very good at moving a team from the bottom of the table to pushing for Europe, he’s not very good at getting over the line in any meaningful way.

No, you have a blend. The massive clubs will come in for the best players, which is where you get a few massive fees. The very good guys who are maybe not quite this level form the backbone of the group. You then have younger players who graduate into the first team.Thats not a fact though.
If Moyes signs players of the same age range of KDH & Grealish for short term success then:
1: Theres not enough money to cover the wages or fees of top class players.
2: The squad value will drop off the older they get which removes resale value.
3: The team will get worse year on year.
4: The rules will ensure that we are unable to compete with the top 6 clubs.
Pretty much all the ingredients to destroy the club and a similar strategy to Moyes at Sunderland.
Moyes had no strategy at Sunderland - he was there for just a season and had very little input into signings and none of his own coaching staff.Thats not a fact though.
