2025/26 David Moyes

Moyes appointed the recruitment team to replace Thelwell and Purdy. Thelwell/Purdy clearly didn't have a problem signing decent players for good fees, most of the team Moyes is playing are their signings. You can try and dress it up whatever way you want but ultimately Moyes is responsible for the summer transfers.

Moyes has ultimate responsibility and final say - I think people understand that.

Moyes isn’t coming in banging on the desk demanding to sign the likes of Aznou though. There are other people involved bringing names to the table. (5 or 6 of them)

No one toasting him you stark raving lunatic, literally everyone of us are disappointed we lost to a 101st minute winner against them however those of us that have more than two brain cells are not out rightly calling it a humiliation or giving up on Europe when we still have 15 points to play for
Raving kopite, wish he would go back to rawk or where ever he is from.

Clearly the players that Moyes was targeting were never realistic targets, he admitted as much in the summer. As I said you are ignoring the simple fact that Thelwell and Purdy didn't have a problem recruiting decent players even though they literally had no budget which strongly implies that scouting and recruiting weren't a problem pre Moyes.

Scouting and recruitment weren’t a problem pre Moyes? The team was slow, unbalanced garbage for years! We’ve had recruitment issues for donkeys years.

Two of them were enforced though. And everyone wanted George to start after last week's cameo. It was a weird game because it felt like we were all over them at times but they obviously have extra class were it counts. If the NDiaye goal counts or Beto scores the 1 v 1 I think we win comfortably. But we are cursed when to comes to that lot. Passed caring. The Pickford Derby was the ultimate.

Played them off the park - and lost
Funny how I can't really remember the first bit - only the last bit

I really dont think our recruitment was good Pre Moyes either to be honest.

It was recruitment mistakes that got us into relegation trouble in the first place. It's been a big problem for probably 10 years now. We've signed so many bad players for big money.
I'd agree pre Thelwell but I'm going to disagree about Thelwell/Purdy who had no budget and signed O'Brien, Ndiaye, Garner, Gueye, Tarkowski for buttons. He picked up Beto when he had to find a club who would sell him a striker and not accept payment for 12 months. Also there have been plenty of good players that he targeted that the managers didn't want and had to deal with interference from Kenwright and Moshiri. In the set up that Moyes has set up the success of that approach strongly depends on the manager having good judgement. I don't think Moyes does.

Imagine wanting 3 more years of that 'kin coward to hand Liverpool another 6 wins?

His derby record is indefensible, but there's a good few on here who'll defend it by saying they spend more so we obviously have no chance in any game.

Joe Royle wound those rich gets up and sent Everton on the pitch to slaughter them on a good few occasions. He had a lot less money to spend than this utter 'kin throbber Moyes too.

He's a loser. He's a coward against Liverpool in particular. He's not fit to be manager of Everton Football Club.
He needs to go - I like him but his stubborness and safety first tactics will see us stay exactly where we are...mid table.

Problem pre Thelwell/Purdy definitely. I think considering the circumstances in which they operated by and large they were very good. Problem was you had to have Dyche agreeing on who to sign.

….i certainly didn’t, i said to Mrs Eggs I thought they’re more likely to score. I think we became detatched after the subs, the reality is we didn’t test the substitute keeper.

Our substitutions certainly didn’t help our cause.

Criminal to have a 3rd choice keeper on, making his debut with our tails up and all we mustered was a illy shot straight at him.

Reminded me of the fa Cup game against their kids, powder puff stuff and you knew the sucker punch was coming.

I don't know what happened. We had all the momentum and had them rattled but the Beto sub just seemed to kill us.

I said all along that he'd see his contract out and leave the second it expires. I've seen nothing this season that makes me feel different. Moyes is what he is. He's exactly the same manager he was years ago. He's learned nothing and is still making the same mistakes. He won't get sacked because he'll do enough to get by stop TFG from going to the expense of doing so. His contract will end next season and they'll quietly thank him and get rid.
