2025/26 David Moyes

"Let Moyes get a few players in over the summer"

Like Rohl, Aznou, Alcaraz, Barry & Dibling who for different reasons are disasters under this manager.

We know he'll sign 30 year old Grealish and will want another with a KDH profile e.g Delap.

its frightening as we see no progression.
I would say that looking at Europe after three seasons of near relegation was progression but we'll probably never agree and I'm too pissed off after today to have a long argument.

He seems to be a far suprior coach whose players are sold from under him.

Someone like that could coach a team if the club was wealthy enough and in a position to hold onto players.

Rayan & Jimenez both 20 i think, thats his right flank.

Kroupi and that Serbian 18 year old centre back.

He can coach and build something.

I think he's done a very good job at Bournemouth. Just not convinced he's good enough to get rid of Moyes at this point.

Absolutely gutted but a bit of perspective needed. We avoided relegation three years on the trot by the skin of our teeth so why do people suddenly think we're going to march into Europe the following season.

I want us to win trophies as much as the next man but, c'mon, be even a tad realistic. We're gutted about losing to the RS & Arsenal, after deserving more, we're still in with a shout for Europe (tell me with a straight face that you wouldn't have taken that last year) and we're enjoying a stress-free end of season.

All this, by the way, without proper strikers and full backs. Fantastic progress, surely?

I'm sure a lot of the reaction is knee-jerk but I think some of you have very short memories. Let Moyes get a few players in over the summer and I think we could be going places.

If we're going into next season without a proper striker or full backs, I'll join the 'out' crowd. 🤝
Essentially because the league this year has been an abject turdshow.

There isn't an expectation of Europe rather frustration at passing up a golden opportunity that likely won't come around again for some time.

If this season goes the way many of us think it will, we'll have a difficult job not only obtaining new talent but keeping what we've got.

Nobody is surprised at what happened today. Some people hope we can move on and some people haven't got there yet.

My take, on Moyes
Yes he has got us stability
Yes he has got us in with a chance of Europe.
Yes we were unlucky today

But we have just played a not very good Liverpool side and been beaten again, that's 6 points they have off us this season.
His record against Liverpool is disgraceful.
is it his game management? his tactics?
or the mentality?

when will it change?

I've said this so many times, but his record against Liverpool is still better than what we came up with when he wasn't here, so there's definitely more to it than it's all Moyes' fault.

We were not perennial derby bottlers until Moyes got his hands on us first time. Yes, out record was not great in them compared to theirs. But we were not bottlers. Moyes has created this problem that has been endemic in the club for over 20 years now.

Not saying he should go, amd overall he has done well. But he is, and always has been a bottler.

If we’re spending over £100m gross every year then we’re staring at another points deduction and further 3 seasons of trying to get on the right side of the financial rules again. I’d like to hope these owners aren’t Moshiri regens tbh.
You do know they've changed the PSR rules Mike? No-one will get a points deduction again I'd wager
