Athletico Madrid lining up to give him a pre-contract thing? Don’t begrudge him that if he wants to relocate. Not sure I like the idea of a player already contractually committed to another club playing every minute of every game for the rest of the season (once he is fit again).

It’s more the fact that he’s a terrible footballer that gives me an issue with him getting minutes every game.

My brother watched him come on as substitute in the FA CUP two yards faster than any blue shirted player on the pitch mate .....

So you've not even seen him play yourself?

He didn't play as a left back when he came on in the FA Cup, Joey. He played on the wing.

And based on what your brother told you about a game you didn't see where he played in a different position, you're saying he "should" have started as a left back yesterday?

Look he was purchased as a left back & has pace - DM just had to play his favourites did he not ? you are totally out of kilter with the rest of the GOT mate - if he was scouted & chosen as a left back then he had a good chance to start - but not under DM or you it seems "!

No he has to go out on loan - its what our club likes doing - DM when he bulks up he will be as good as Leighton Baines - when he came on he looked far bulkier than Baines did now?

I just cou;d not DM playing four CBs yesterday & stated he would after the Leeds game - ideal to see what he could do at left back & then maybe cancel his loan - as our current left back is way off form anyhow!

It was a chance to start him ok.....

You don't help yourself mate.

You can't say "he should start" if you've never seen the lad play. You've offered an opinion based on knowing nothing about him other than what your brother told you and the fact that you know he was signed as a left back.

We'll leave it there Joe, but suffice to say this is a new one on me. I've never argued with someone before about a player that the other person, by their own admission, has never watched before.

It is not his fault he does not get a run in the team - other posters were impressed with him with his pace the thought he could play instead of Grealish - he was signed as a left back & has not featured once -

why sign him ?
