…..after his performance against Arsenal, Armstrong isn’t going to leapfrog Iroegbunam. He’s also not going to start ahead of Garner or in a wide position.

You’d hope KDH is fit to return at the beginning of January so the midfield places largely pick themselves. If he is recalled it would only be as cover and even then he maybe behind Rohl and Alcaraz in the pecking order.

Insurance for injuries and suspensions but maybe not getting used even before Gueye returns.

It wasn’t a move I was aware of, just have to see what happens.

Armstrong comes back for a few weeks and trains with the 1st team.

Coaches and Moyes see where hes developed. He also gets a chance to see how hes doing for himself.

Goes back to Preston and continues playing games.

I reckon its a good move for Armstrong for the reasons i mentioned above & also he may get a few mins as a sub across a variety of midfield positions.
