….the last thing I’d feel is sorry for two very ordinary footballers who find themselves in an extraordinary fortunate position. From a service perspective, they have two of the best wide players in the league aside them and KDH behind.

Sadly, neither is on the same wavelength as the talent they have alongside. Neither makes those little darts to get in front of CBs and make a little space in the box. Indeed, imagine if we had a half decent striker who could exploit the talent around him. Doesn’t have to be somebody great, just a good striker.
Ok Eggs, dunno what I’ve been watching, I just have missed the bucket load of chances our wide players have created for the two of them, in every match, that they’ve consistently fluffed.

It's like having to choose between having a giant douche or a turd sandwich as your official club mascot.

…these are strikers you have to put it on a plate for (Ndiaye for Barry, the sitter he missed at Sunderland; Ndiaye for Beto in the lead up to the Grealish goal) but strikers at this level should be good enough to also make things happen, to play on the front foot and get on the end of crosses into the box. They should also contribute assists.

Ours lack basic quality, Moyes alluded to it after the game. We shouldn’t look to make excuses for them, they are short of what is required.

I can’t understand anybody ‘feeling sorry’ for them but hey ho.

And this is why the 20 goal a season strikers are top drawer.

Feel for both of them, there are obviously some deficiencies with the pair, but we don’t give any striker proper support or service.
This is for some reason a very unpopular opinion but is absolutely correct.

The only run we've had of a striker scoring goals since Rom leaving was DCL under Carlo. At that time all of our play in posession was focused on keeping him around the 6 yard box, drawing defenders wide and then getting the ball to him to finish.

Dom goes to Leeds and starts bagging goals again after looking like never scoring again for us, and people think it's as simple as our strikers are just rubbish.

Igor Thiago is genuinely rubbish, he's on 11 goals this season.

You haven't missed anything. Yes we need more from the strikers, and yes we need more from the other attacking players.

Love our Barry and his committment in every game, no one could ever call the lad lazy. My vote went to Beto though, we need to get him back to his form last season, there's a monster of a player in there. Start scaring the Santa Claus out of defenders lad. Get the baubles in the back of the net.
