2025/26 Tyler Dibling

YEEEEEESSSSSSS

Now you see why there is the same illogical stupidity of using McNeil over Dibling.

….sometimes you just have to admit to your judgement being wrong, its not shameful, its what grown ups do.

Dibling doesn’t look like being England’s next big thing, just as Alcaraz doesn’t look like being one of Everton’s ‘greatest ever midfielders’. The fact that there’s a discussion over McNeil or Dibling clearly demonstrates he’s been a very disappointing signing.

Justifiably criticise Moyes for his part in sanctioning a £40m transfer but don’t criticise him for not selecting him.

Clubs like us used to do their homework on players before investing huge amounts of money on them. That homework included scouting, looking into the lads background and finding out the type of character he is. Sadly, Dibling looks short on both fronts.

McNeil was poor, maybe Dibling gets an opportunity next but already it has the same feel as Lindstrom/Harrison or even Barry/Beto. No excuses, if Dibling is the superstar some suggest then he needs to grasp the opportunity.

I despise Dwight McNeil but I'm not stubborn enough to see Dibling is even worse than him. We've [Poor language removed] it.

Worse than him currently, fine. But the whole point of signing Dibling was his ceiling. So now the only competition for that RW spot is playing Dwight McNeil out of position, it has to be Dibling's turn for some game time.

I know he's not really done much to deserve a starting role, but he's also not been afforded an opportunity to get into a rhythm. If he had a run of games, I think we'd all have a better idea of the player he is.

There's also a school of thought that says managers need to adapt their methods to get the best out of each player. However, we have Moyes as our manager so we either need to sign players who work hard and show up every week, with strong self belief, or we get a new manager who can handle different personalities and blend them into a team.

….Grealish and KDH suggesting they’ve never been happier than playing for Moyes. He’s giving Barry a good run in the team to no avail. Dibling looks poor, although given McNeil’s performance last night, Moyes might as well select Dibling next game.

Unless you’re close to the camp you really don’t know how much time Moyes is investing in individuals, I’ve posted about him talking to Dibling at length ahead of the Palace game.

It’s easy to offer excuse for poor individual performance by blaming the manager but players have to take responsibility themselves.

I'm not blaming the manager for being someone who can't develop young players, I'm blaming the recruitment team for bringing in young players who need developing. Grealish and Dewsbury Hall are older and more established players, and we've seen in his first spell how Moyes can work well with that type of player

This is fair enough, but I still don’t think starting him against arsenal would be the best way to get him some rhythm. We were bound to be on the back foot most of the game and he’d have a centre back playing out of position behind him.

People fawning over him nut megging a player against Newcastle.

People now saying oh you must not have watched him last year, as if they have some divine ability to judge a player (who was apart of the second worst ever premier league team - fact) better than others. He was in and out of that side too by the way.

If he was amazing as some posters claim, why did he not start every minute possible for Southampton?

If he was as amazing as some posters are attempting to make out, why did he do very little for them in their worst ever premier league campaign?

The fact that he moved from a relegated team to a team that has been in relegation battles for the last five years, and that no one else was in for him, says everything you need to know. “Oh spurs we’re signing him for 100m” yeh because everything that’s in the papers is true - it really isn’t.

The facts at present are - he’s crap.

The hope is he turns out to be something better than crap.

You cannot bring it to the door of the manager, that it’s some how his fault for not being played.

Absolute waste of 40m when the side had so many glaring issues.

IF what Angus Kinnear says about Moyes signing off on players is true (I personally have doubts) then you definitely can question the manager over his role in this woeful recruitment.

To summarise he’s crap, and we’ve wasted a huge amount of money on him.

…definitely criticise the recruiting team, including Moyes.

I’m not sure it’s a matter of buying youngsters ‘who need developing’, the concern is paying big bucks on youngsters who simply aren’t good enough or certainly not worthy of that level of investment.

Get the transfer request in lad, do it now.

You’ve got no chance here, as this manager thinks Dwight McNeil doing his impression of an empty crisp packet blowing around the pitch is a better option than you.

Diblings been managed appallingly badly by Moyes, how anyone can say he’s crap with the laughable lack of minutes he’s played for us is just insane.

He may well be, but a fair judgement can’t be made yet.

We do know McNeil is 100% crap however, so how is he selected…..
