2025/26 David Moyes

Yup.

Acid test of these owners' ambition.
Honestly it's not about managers

The real test of the owners ambition is whether they will get a proper recruitment team in place, who will be backed, but then held accountable for bringing in the right players.

Until we prioritise bringing in players with pace, strength and goal threat, then changing the manager is unlikely to help.

We need 2 or 3 straight windows of good recruitment in the right areas. Until that happens this team is mid table and irrelevant. Never doing anything impressive at the right end of the table but highly unlikely to get relegated.

You needs players. Do people genuinely think anyone will do better with no investment in the squad.

Fluid attacking football without the players will just result in pumpings.
But you need a brave manager and Moyes will never be that, not golas from our 55 subs, mainly because we make 90% of our changes in the last 10 mins and it’s always like for like. He never goes for it and he never will. His transfers mainly will be prem
Experience. Apparently he wanted Dibling, so why he’s not giving him more time is a bit bizarre.

I’ve always thought, that had transfers been solely on Moyes we wouldn’t have gone for Barry, Dibling, Rhol or Asnou.
He wanted the lad from Villa, he wanted soucek. I believe he had to comprise, I’m not sure he can stamp his feet like he could with Kenwright. The summer will be interesting, be what do TFG/ Kinnear and recruitment team do, because if he’s not playing the young players we’ve bought this summer. What do TFG do, because I doubt they change their philosophy of buying young to build something. Moyes is definitely not the manager for that

The manager sets the tone. You can have the best recruitment in the world, but if your manager plays the poor mouth and sets up not to lose more than 1-0, then you're wasting your time. I agree, we need a proper recruitment team. We need a new manager too. We're not getting relegated. We're not impoverished. If we must be mid-table, let's have a go and be entertaining mid-table. I agree with you overall, but come back to me in a month when Moyes rests the first team and goes out of the cup and tell me it's not about managers...

You don't need to remind me about Moyes and cup team selections

But right now, recruitment is by far the number 1. The attackers on the field for us tonight were truly hopeless. That was an unacceptable attacking performance at home for an Everton team. The answer is build the depth of the squad and move players on.

We did nothing to threaten them at home with a massive build up of atmosphere.

If you think that deserves some praise then so be it. I dont.
If we had a full squad available, it would be more disappointing but with our 4 key players missing, most of the players that started tonight are the same ones that have been in multiple relegation battles. They’re not suddenly going to turn into a team that can regularly turn up and beat arguably the best team in Europe at the moment.

Agree, in general. The recruitment has been largely disastrous. The only unequivocal success has only been so when not played out of position. But who led that recruitment? The manager. We need a change come summer.

Does this mean I can get a game ? When they train in the week do they just pass backwards, practice crap free kicks, long throw ins and corners and pass to an opposing team mate. That's all I saw today, and it's not the first time either.

We should have seen Dibling at least played into this team by now. Moyes just wont look to the future.

I cant stand his post match dire and arsey analysis looking to blame others when he was the ultimate problem.

We probably haven’t had 1 game this season we’re all 11 have been in there true position
