2025/26 Merlin Röhl

Decided to go back in this thread, which i never do. After trying to get past the puns, you start to see the increasing flow of posts regarding a first team, future hero, and just massive influction of what a signing we've got after a few minutes cameo.

Now it's picked up quite a rapid pace of an awful signing, waste of money on a crocked player. What were we doing when scouting this lad..

This is Everton fans for you.
Just use Google & it would save a hell of a lot of money & time ..... no need for this lad to be scouted - his injury record says it all ....how many injuries has he had here just training ?

I hope he comes good - but his injury list for a young player is a bit alarming to say the least IMO .....

Hahaha, why didn't we think of it before. Google, the future of scouting.. 🤣

Spot on Joey ;)

Well, if its that easy to see then it should pose questions.

I have a view on this.

I wonder if Merlin had the same issues as witches where their power drains them every time they use it...

….ironic that with all the injuries he’s probably not far off the amount of game time Dibling has had. Arguably made a more favourable impression.

Maybe the club didn’t do their homework on either but just as it’s daft writing Dibling off, it’s the same with Rohl even if their time at Everton has been largely disappointing to date.

Yes, you had a load of overexcited people declaring him the next Messiah for a few ten minute cameos.

He's played about one half of football for us in nearly four months. It's entirely fair to be disappointed.

Injuries aren't that often related to eachother.

He is out now because he had surgery for sports hernia/Gilmore's groin? That is common injury among footballers. Google it.

I am pretty sure that having surgery now was a club decision. He played against Fulham and had his surgery within 48 hours. Scheduled for the beginning of the international break. To get him fit and 100% for a busy few weeks with Gueye at AFCON. The timing was right.

If they only knew that Gueye was going to strike Keane and pick up a three match suspension, they could have waited with Rohl's surgery. Players play with hernia problems.

Hindsight is a beautiful thing.

I can't give a view on a player i haven't seen play.

I mean that is normally how things work, just obviously not on forums..

When signing Rohl we would have used our medical team to through his whole history, better than any google search can give you. They would have looked at "Risk v Reward" obviously they have come back and said the risk is worth it.

Please don't tell me that you believe Google should be used when scouting players !!

There is a difference between the next wonder to a crocked waste of money.

Thats one extreme to another, not disappointment..

Or maybe it's a disappointment that he hasn't proven people right about their praise for him..
