And in addition they doubled down:

Chelsea vs Everton

It's another pathetic Saturday of Premier League football, with just TWO games at 3pm and no early kick-off. One of the 3pm contests sees in-form Everton travel to a Chelsea side having a bit of a wobble.

The Toffees have won four from five, keeping clean sheets in all those wins, while Chelsea are four without a victory. It gives us the perfect chance to back a pro-Everton angle.

While I wanted to back the customary Everton double chance and Jordan Pickford card, the odds are far too short for my liking, so I’m going with a narrative angle. KIERNAN DEWSBURY-HALL returns to Stamford Bridge – a stadium he spent just one miserable year at.

Now at Everton, the 27-year-old seems to have found a home, scoring four goals and registering two assists in 14 starts.

He is one of the first names on the team sheet and will be relishing the chance to return to west London and show the Blues what they are missing. While his cards have dried up in recent weeks, he has already been booked five times this campaign and averages 1.37 fouls per 90.

In terms of goalscoring, he has scored in three of the last four, so 30/1 for him TO SCORE AND BE CARDED looks chunky when you include the added narrative.
Malo Gusto

MALO GUSTO TO BE CARDED also appeals.

While the right-back has only been carded (sent off) in one of his eight league starts, he is up against Jack Grealish. The Manchester City loanee is averaging 3.23 fouls won per 90 and has drawn a yellow from six out of 13 right-backs he's faced – even if Connor Bradley inexplicably avoided a card in the Merseyside derby.

remarkable optimism from Sporting Life:

Chelsea vs Everton

Things have all gone a bit 'Pete Tongue' for Chelsea since a good display again Arsenal. Defeat to Leeds, a draw at Bournemouth and defeat at Atalanta in the Champions League have meant their good run of form is now a distant memory.

They are now fifth in the league table, eight points behind Arsenal and just one point above Saturday's visitors Everton, who head to Stamford Bridge having won four of their last five. This will be a tough game for the Blues who can't afford to slip up again.

Things could get lively here, and with these two sides both ranking in the top five for cards this season (both 34 - 2.27 per game), cards look a route to go down and I'm again going to be hoping our good friend Jack Grealish can help deliver.

We'll back both MALO GUSTO and REECE JAMES TO BE CARDED as singles here at big prices, with Grealish drawing a lot of cards from opposing right-backs and right central midfielders - where James is expected to line up on Saturday.
grealish fouls won

In 10 of Grealish's 13 league starts for Everton, at least one of the RB or RCM has been booked, with six booked of each and both booked in the same game on two occasions (Crystal Palace and West Ham).

Gusto and James aren't exactly known for their high card records, but they don't come up against a player as direct and dangerous as Grealish. Gusto has been sent off already this season at Nottingham Forest and was booked in the Champions League recently against Barcelona, while James has three cards to his name.

The referee is Thomas Bramall and he's averaged 3.6 cards per game but can be wild, and has recently refereed both these sides, showing eight yellows and a red as Chelsea beat Wolves and five yellows when Everton drew at Sunderland.

Score prediction: Chelsea 1-2 Everton (Sky Bet odds: 14/1)
Pete Tongue must be a pornstar dj

I was travelling from Chester tomorrow because it was cheaper than Lime st., had an email from Avanti “ sorry your train has been cancelled” 🤬 I’ll get to the ‘Spoons earlier though now I’m going from Lime st.

Logic and the law of averages suggests that you should get at least a point and probably turn us over on Saturday, however I have a (probably irrational) feeling that we’ll turn in a decent performance and win. I’m usually a glass half empty when it comes to CFC match expectation so this is very strange, as you’re currently the better team. I’ve put a score on Everton to win (you’ve been backed in to 4-1 already) to ameliorate against disappointment, in case I’m (probably) wrong😵‍💫.
Well, just as long as Garnacho doesn’t score another worldie against us, considering that this what Maresca has to say about his recently:
