2025/26 Dwight McNeil

Always puts a shift in. He’s not Grealish/Ndiaye level, but few are. We need competition & cover. And we need professionals with good attitude & work ethic around the squad.

I don’t get some of our fans who just want to punt players the minute they’re not starters. Have they seen our bench???? And Ndiaye off to AFCON soon.
Absolutely this.

I don't like this notion that he is an awful player all of a sudden either. He is decent, we just have better options in the first team right now. He will have a role to play this season.

Some of our fans wanted to keep doucoure, we don’t win when he doesn’t play etc
This is what happens when you get better players, sitting in 5th
McNeil, doucoure, Jack Harrison and Beto are your bottom half prem fodder.
McNeil could get us a 10mil plus profit which could get us a 30mil player to sit on the bench and offer so much more and put even more pressure on
The starting players. Selling him is a no
brainer

I ve always been a fan of McNeil. I m never going to change the minds of others but this is my opinion. He was first on the teamsheet for months when he showed his quality and superb workrate. He ran himself into the ground. It baffles me that people never saw that or just choose to ignore or forget it! Then he got injured and since he came back he was simply not the same player. I cannot offer an explanation as to why. I can guess, like others on here and say that he doesnt give a toss and he s a lazy so and so. Guessing tho is as stupid as those comments are. Then when he came on, on Tuesday i thought to myself that for the first time since his injury that he looked really sharp. I was made up that he got on yday because i knew he would be back to his old self. The cross he put in for Betos header was the best i ve seen all season! Going forward i hope he can keep this level of fitness because for me he is good enough to be involved. COYB

Having players like him on the bench strengthens the overall picture. So for that reason I think selling him wouldn’t be necessary. He can play in a few positions as well, so gives the manager options.

We can further strengthen the bench by offloading the likes of Patterson and Beto and getting better replacements for them in.

Cross of the season 😂. You’re obviously fan mate, but he’s a bog standard prem
Player, he’s not good enough even as a bench option for a team that wants to kick on.

And this working hard and grafting for the shirt, is the biggest load of tosh I’ve ever heard. To use that as one of a players great traits is embarrassing. As Roy keane would say, as a pro footballer on 70k that’s should be a given.
It’s like employing a terrible electrician, but in the reviews you put his tools were nice .

He did alright when he came on. Hopefully it was enough for Dyche to take him off our hands in January.
Didn't want to see him in a blue shirt again after that Sunderland cameo - genuinely one of the worst sub appearances I've ever seen.

Thought he did alright yesterday. Still a few classic McNeil bits where his lack of pace was excruciating and his inability to touch the ball with his right foot was an issue, but he did contribute well at times as well, so fair enough, maybe he can still play a part.

It's modern football fans mate.
Every player is one game away from the best or worst player they've ever seen.
There's loads on here.
