2025/26 Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

His quality for us could be used to say he was a bargain signing.

However, Chelsea wanted him out and we've given them their money back. I think we could have gotten him cheaper.

Comparing his performances and desire to play at 8, he is pretty terrible as a 10.

Huge player as an 8 and for every game there he's motm or at that level. One of the best in the league for us there. Adds energy and a goal threat as a CM but slows play down as a 10.

Cahill for me is more what I see with Alcaraz.

KDH reminds me of Joe Parkinson. Not for the specific style of play, but for the relentless energy and quality he brings to the team.

I think we should stick with Alcaraz, see how he does. Barry had 6 games so surely Alcaraz also deserves a go as he's getting goals and assists.

If Alcaraz isnt the chosen one then we should be using Dibling at 10.

If neither of them fit the bill by the summer then Moyes has to decide whether he wants a 6 or a 10.

He's had 4 games and 4 motm performances at 8.

Newcastle he was used at 10 again by Moyes and we were blitzed all game.

As others have said i dont trust Moyes in these situations at all. Its frightening to think that he signed KDH to play at 10.

I expected him to replace Gana. Just so weird to use him at 10.

He'll probably do his favourite party trick of dropping Alcaraz, playing KDH at 10 next game and using Gana again vs Chelsea.

Then say that theyre a brilliant side when we lose the game and Grealish + KDH slow the play down all game :(

Do you think so? It looks obvious but he may well force KDH back into the 10 role.

Laughable. KDH is an absolute gem in any midfield position.

I see alot of praise for Alcaraz…

I thought he was poor yesterday, but what do I know? Clearly nothing
I'm with you mate. Think he's really poor in possession and only of any use in transition when there's grass ahead of him to run into. Yesterday was more of the same IMO.

I value proper footballers like KDH much more than runners like Alcaraz.

Charly would be high on my list of players to replace/improve on in the summer, but I accept I'm in the minority.

I find this very strange personally and very harsh, I think he's been fine the past 2 games, maybe give him a chance?

He's played the best part of 30 times for us, I doubt he's got much left to show us that he hasn't already done and he's just not for me.

Thought the difference between him and KDH yesterday was stark - KDH has an appreciation of space, looks after the ball well and uses the ball intelligently. Alcaraz never has a picture in his head, the ball is never well-protected when he collects it and his passing is sloppy. Lost count of the number of times he played back to Pickford yesterday because he hadn't scanned before receiving it to be aware of whether he could turn and play forward.

I do accept that there are games where his energy has made a difference - Palace at home comes to mind, but there aren't too many scenarios where, if everyone was fit, I'd want him starting games for us.

just think it's strange to suggest he is anywhere near high up on players that need selling, given he's a natural 10, he can definitely be of use. Also I don’t think he’s actually started or played as a 10 that often. I haven’t been impressed when he’s been out wide or deeper, but I have liked him when he’s been used in the 10, including last season. I thought he was fine, he carries the ball well and his link-up play is decent. Your criticism of him passing back to Pickford is funny. As if Moyes wouldn’t rather he play it safe than take unnecessary risks that end up getting him a bollocking from the touchline.

To be honest I wasn’t really sold on him when he first came in but he’s turning out to be boss.
You know what I came here to say the exact same thing.

He’s clearly a lot better than where I rated him, I hope the return of Gana doesn’t see him move back to that ten role, him and Jimmy G are clearly our two best cms at the moment.

….might be too late to make a bid to get into the World Cup squad but there can’t be many English midfielders out-performing him at the moment.

I admit to getting him very wrong, it’s his attitude and application that mostly surprises me, proper plays like the game matters. Reminds me of a mid-80s Kendall-type signing.
See this is the perfect example of using a player in the right position.

A couple of weeks ago at #10, people were saying Ireland. Now at #8 people are saying England..

( Not aimed at you Eggs, just used your post because you mentioned world cup squad..

Have you guys seen how combative he, Grealish and Garner are on the ball and in transitions? None of them are grocks or giants and they are not invincible but their ability to fight in midfield is consistently very impressive and a large part of our recent success.

Conversely getting bullied off the pitch by Newcastle was a tragedy so there is still room to improve
Just having Jack in the team has played a massive part in what your seeing in other lads now.

KDH has now even grasped how to perfectly win a free kick.
