2025/26 Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Bargain signing...cant belive chelsea let a player like that go for a sub 30 millions transfer...he is probably now worth easy double that. He has just exploded. Best signing of the summer, ahead of grealish, just.

His quality for us could be used to say he was a bargain signing.

However, Chelsea wanted him out and we've given them their money back. I think we could have gotten him cheaper.

I'm just elated he's playing in his best position as he wasnt terrible as a ten it just wasn't always suitable for his attributes. Further back he's been extraordinary and has a greater opportunity to influence the game in all aspects

Comparing his performances and desire to play at 8, he is pretty terrible as a 10.

Huge player as an 8 and for every game there he's motm or at that level. One of the best in the league for us there. Adds energy and a goal threat as a CM but slows play down as a 10.

What more is there to say that hasn’t already, it’s been a long time since we’ve had a player that wears the bad with pride like Dewsbury-Hall last for me was Cahill!

I loved Cahill, and I can see that I could love this guy to!! He has a touch of class about him, long may it continue he has put smiles back on the faces of blues!!

Cahill for me is more what I see with Alcaraz.

KDH reminds me of Joe Parkinson. Not for the specific style of play, but for the relentless energy and quality he brings to the team.

If I was Moyes, I would be looking to bring in a 10 or an attacker that can play across the front 3 and only use this guy there occasionally. He offers just as much if not more deeper on the field and can always be an option at the 10 when we are trying to close out games or get after a very weak defense. Let this guy be our Essien/Modric/Xabi/etc.

I think we should stick with Alcaraz, see how he does. Barry had 6 games so surely Alcaraz also deserves a go as he's getting goals and assists.

If Alcaraz isnt the chosen one then we should be using Dibling at 10.

If neither of them fit the bill by the summer then Moyes has to decide whether he wants a 6 or a 10.

I'm already worried about that, i cant say my confidence is too high that he wont revert back, once he has the options available.

Just have to hope KDH makes himself "unmovable" before the options come back ( if that makes sense )

He's had 4 games and 4 motm performances at 8.

Newcastle he was used at 10 again by Moyes and we were blitzed all game.

As others have said i dont trust Moyes in these situations at all. Its frightening to think that he signed KDH to play at 10.

I expected him to replace Gana. Just so weird to use him at 10.

He'll probably do his favourite party trick of dropping Alcaraz, playing KDH at 10 next game and using Gana again vs Chelsea.

Then say that theyre a brilliant side when we lose the game and Grealish + KDH slow the play down all game :(

Fair play to Moyes here. He can be infuriatingly stubborn at times, but he seems to have recognised that being so rigid positionally was seriously hampering KDH (it's quite easy to nullify a player who doesn't really have much by way of physical attributes if he doesn't have licence to roam).

I love seeing technically gifted players being allowed to express themselves.

Do you think so? It looks obvious but he may well force KDH back into the 10 role.

We needed to move on from Doucoure, honestly his legs were going, but we miss that presence and physicality in some games, namely Leeds and Sunderland of the top of my head.

We defo need to look at midfield in either this or the summer window, for those traits, maybe Rohl can develop that way.

And I don’t include the cat Josh Brownhill shouts from the summer from the fan club on here, before they get little stiffys.

What’s the problem lad “Doucoure”

What’s the answer “Josh Brownhill”.

Never forget.

;)

Comparing him to Doucoure makes no sense. Doucoure was a 10 with a bit of a knack for scoring goals while KDH is an ineffective 10 in comparison to playing 8.

We should compare Doucoure with Alcaraz and give him a few games.

Love the lad, but I think your possibly overstretching a bit there.

He's played 14 league games..

4 (?) as an 8 where hes been amazing and 10 where he's not been amazing...

Imagine if Moyes keeps him as an 8 and this level of performance remains all season.

He’s better than Henderson, Wharton, Anderson, and Scott. Tuchel would he stupid not to call him up.

Wharton is a deep lying playmaker so theyre different players and Anderson is a different beast as well, an all rounder more like Garner than KDH.

Take one of those 2 and add it to KDH + Garner and we'd have one of the very best midfields in the league.

Think its just a matter of time, before he's called to the England-squad. If he keeps this level of performances throughout the season, its hard to imagine that he wont be a part of the world cup-squad. He's been absolutely phenomenal since his arrival, and we heard that he was loved at Chelsea as well. The fans there could see his qualities when he playes, but its hard to get minuts when the club has invested 2,5b for Enzo, Lavia and Caicedo.

I think he's more natural at 8. He has proven, that he can still get goals from that position, and in my opinion he should keep the place and let Garner, Gana and Tim fight for their lives for the no 6-position. Its fair to say, that Garner has been brilliant as well.

That leaves us with great attacking options as well. Charly has this "bite" to his game, and his presence/work rate balance our starting 11 quite good in the abscense of Gana. He should be worried by that. But i would absolutely LOVE to see Illiman in that central no 10-position. Think he would flourish more being involved centrally. That leaves an open space for Dibling at right wing. We can all see his qualitites with the ball, and with O'Brien behind him, he has a solid support to let him play with his style.

He's the best footballer that we've had our club since the 80's. Does everything.

….might be too late to make a bid to get into the World Cup squad but there can’t be many English midfielders out-performing him at the moment.

I admit to getting him very wrong, it’s his attitude and application that mostly surprises me, proper plays like the game matters. Reminds me of a mid-80s Kendall-type signing.
He also has just the right amount of confidence/arrogance. He backs his ability and he doesn't take a backwards step to anyone on the field. Same as Grealish and NDiaye. We've been lacking that sort of attitude for a long time.

We seems to have been the perfect move for him.

He was a lad that was coming into his prime years who needed home where he could play regular, and we where a team that needed some real quality in middle of the pitch.

If he carries on in this form he'll be going the WC,can't think of many to many English CMs who are playing better at the minute.

Have you guys seen how combative he, Grealish and Garner are on the ball and in transitions? None of them are grocks or giants and they are not invincible but their ability to fight in midfield is consistently very impressive and a large part of our recent success.

Conversely getting bullied off the pitch by Newcastle was a tragedy so there is still room to improve
