Do we need Gueye? I've said no all season. We beat United without him. We crashed to Newcastle and the likes of Baz on ToffeeTV were saying his championing of Gueye was vindicated and we were hopeless without him. Since then, we won at Bournemouth without him and are now 2-0 up without him.

Small sample size and this game isn't over yet, but I'm not remotely convinced we are anything like as dependent on Gueye as people think - or as we are on Ndiaye (who will be the true loss over the next month).

I think that we are worse in midfield without him, yeah. I also know he’s 36 or whatever and gone for 6 weeks soon so I’d like to give Tim a real chance. Tim’s good games are promising and he’s got to find a way to stop having the disasters from time to time. I think he can.
