Arrogance personified this England side - not enough cricket played by them, not enough respect shown to the opposition, no respect shown to a test match and what that means.

Try and smack every delivery that comes your way in one day cricket, no issues at all with that, we used to be far too conservative in one day matches.

Now we have lost any semblance of control on our batting except for root who is the only player they Aussies would have.

Crap in the field, due to lack of proper matches.

We Can’t bowl consistently line and length anymore either (come back Jimmy Anderson) so make ok batters look spectacular.

So sick and tired of bazball.

This latest embarrassment has to be the death of it.

Well done Australia, played like a proper test side in a test match (mad tactics them) and have battered us.

England need to ditch Bazball and its originator
Then first off aim for draw-a-test-ball...and if possible then on to win-a-test-ball

There's no characters in this squad. They're all bar one or two utterly shell shocked. Where's Flintoff or Pietersen types? Where's the big chip on the shoulder with the talent to back it up? Is this what England have become? The Botham era, the Flintoff era. Generational all rounder eras that have enough to drag the rest of a pile of crap over the line?

Root, brook, stokes, Wood and archer combined with the aussie mentality would be an asset to any team....

I think a lot of these players are picked on 'vibes'. As though they are capable of great things but need to be carried until they consistently do it.

The problem is if you carry a player for 8 years in the hope they produce 1 year of 50+ averages, what's the point?

Innings gone, day gone, match gone, series effectively gone. Time to talk about the hierarchy;

Stokes, McCullum, Key have a lot to answer for (and they won’t be able to). I’m struggling to see where they can go for a replacement captain. Joe Root again for a couple of years to see out his career? Is Harry Brook really going to be someone to lead the team when his attitude to batting in this series reflected the reason for changing the leadership in the first place? And the rest of the players…who is under threat of being dropped exactly? Is there anyone other than Bethell waiting in the wings? Abject failure of any longevity.

The games not actually over yet though, as frustrated as the likes of Vaughan are why not at least publically back them and say Stokes could pull something out of his arse tomorrow and give the bowlers something to play for. Not even a Botham at headingley type innings saves them here. Australia could chase 200 easily. Realistically it will be more like 20 though

We're realistically asking stokes, Jacks, carse and Archer to somehow score about 240 between them just to give us a reasonable attempt at a defendable total....

That's just too much of an ask....

Serious questions need to he asked before the third test
