We played good football against Newcastle punctuated by a couple of heinous individual errors to go down 2-0. Then we capitulated.

Ofc you don’t get to write off your howlers but it’s not like Newcastle ran us off the pitch at first.
This is true we played some really good football between the first and second goals and were dominating them. Couple of individual errors and we're three down before we know it. It was just one of those days.

Oddschecker: 5/4 favs here, then the draw 23/10, then the away win 27/10

Also, I see that Douglas Luiz has missed 12 games for them with "thigh problems" - perhaps we were well out of that one in the end...

Would love to see Patterson start and score and then go over and hit dyche on the back of the head, 3 match ban but he'd probably be injured anyway💪 UTFT

If we leave the back 4 well alone we'll be ok; if the divvy in the dugout breaks it up to plug a gap in MF then we'll concede a couple at least.

I think he might feel like he has to because of Tim's ban. It's either leave it and have Charly with KDH (maybe?) in midfield, or shuffle the back to get Garner in midfield with maybe Keane/Patterson in.

It's a pivotal game for knowing whether we can kick on and properly threaten the top half or continue in a sort of stop-start manner albeit we have done well recently.

Our performances at home haven't been great. It's a perfective opportunity to deliver both a performance and a result of consequence.

Its nice to be relatively relaxed about our situation, I don't take that for granted but at the same time with the league so bunched it's a case of opportunity knocks and would be great if we could get the three points tomorrow.

...which is the only solution in the absence of another fit MF (or one loaned out).

Otherwise you have Tarkowski without O'Brien who goes to RB and that wrecks both of their games.

It ended badly but that’s how things end.

He put up with a lot of crap that Moyes only caught the tail end of, if at all.

I appreciate him. In the spectrum of former managers he’s a lot closer to the Carlo/Silva “happy to buy him a pint sometime” end than the FSW “flaming bag of dog poop on his doorstep”
I would be surprised if he gets a hostile reception, more likely 'he's just the manager of the opposition ' meh.

More important the decibel level is high again, and we concentrate on no mistakes, keep the same back 4, be patient, don't hoof, and above all get three points.

We have to keep Jake at CB, ideal world you’d keep the back four the same, but with Tim’s suspension you have to move Jimmy to midfield.

Patto has to come in at RB. He's a RB, underwhelming sure but play players in their correct positions.

Don’t shoehorn Jake back in at RB that would stifle his development; he’s a CB he needs to be playing regularly there now, equally it would have a negative impact on Tarks, who needs some pace next to him - why he is so good with Jarad and jaded with Keane.

KDH and Jimmy in the centre with Charly in front.

We can do these, let’s have it Moyes. 2-0 Everton!

I do appreciate that. But our CM is so weak this weekend that Moyes can only stick a pairing together and hope it works.
Thing is we have to do our best to get a strangle hold on the CM.

Garner - KDH - Alcaraz is the strongest match up we can give.

Yeah it will hinder the FB but the middle is the fight.
