Yes mate, very meh all around tbh.

It also definitely feels like the players are over coached now, especially with the flair and special players.

Yamal has got a long way to go.

Football was just better when Ronaldinho, Riquelme, Okocha, zidane, zola, inesta and R9 were knocking it about.

Today’s football is just bland and beige.
You've forgotten my favourite player Michael Laudrup, watching his YouTube highlight reel is time well spent. But yes players are overcoached and athletic prowess is more important than technical prowess. And football takes itself far too seriously now where there's no mavericks anymore

Another well deserved away victory. Keeping faith with roughly the same team (an injury and a move around for Garner) was the correct thing to do (as the result showed). A top 4 spot is all to play for - look at Villa, struggling earlier in the season now 4th., but maybe our squad depth will hinder us. The next 4 games Forest and Arsenal at home and Chelsea and Burnley away will be very interesting. The squad players Dibling, Alcaraz, McNeil have to get more playing time, and probably will with suspensions and the AFCOM, so as to make a good effort to go far in the FA cup and push for a European place.

Knew I’d miss someone class off! 🤣

Loved watching Laudrup play.

Another good use of time on YouTube is watching Maradona doing that warm up for Napoli, just titting about with a footy to the music, just brilliant.

if were talking premier league though, thr overall standard of footballer has vastly improved, we were able to survive fairly comfortably under walter smith with a side containing no one with any flair of pace or under the age of 30

yet in recent years weve had the likes of richarlison, digne, mina, pickford, anthony gordon, allan, andre gomes, onana, gana gueye etc and hung on by the skin of our teeth

whether its less exciting or not is another debate, one i would agree with, but the physical and technical ability of the players across the board is vastly superior to 20 years ago

I have to disagree there Vaughan, no way are players better technical now then 20 years ago. More athletic yes. More tactically aware yes. More coached definitely. But the standard in sports in general has declined with quantity preferred to quality

GREAT WIN and team performance
i thought that Tim did well following his mare against Newcastle
shame he now misses next game and cant get a run in the team.
think someone had worked hard with him between games.

He's young and inexperienced but has the tools to be a good player so we'll have to accept he'll have bad games along the way

Disagree, think it’s really strong and athletic which is why there’s a lot of swing in resultss
Think that's bollocks to be honest, a lot of players now are simply athletes. You only have to look at how overrated DCL was, James Vaughan, Beckford and Naismith were all far better finishers than he is and we weren't that highly rated. Just look at some of the goals from around 2007 to 2009 from teams like United, Chelsea, Arsenal even TBF RS and clubs like us, Villa and Spurs. Rooney, Berbatov, Bergkamp, Henry, Drogba, Suarez, and Ageuro are all far better than Mane, Haaland, Salah and Cole Palmer. You don't have players who can put same defense splitting pinpoint passes as in the past. Liverpool's success has largely just been on hoofing ball down pitch to Salah or scoring on the break.

Great battling win. Puts into perspective how we need to sort out our home form.
Gutsy performances to grind out away wins then flop against Spurs and the Stripy Kopites. Are the away games a reaction to our home gubbings or do we let the hubris get to us to affect our home form?
Let the South Stand suck the ball into the net without putting in the requisite effort? It’s a puzzler.
Still, top half and Road Throat to beat on Saturday.
