2025/26 Jack Grealish

For now, he is a problem, he isn’t (recently) used to playing with such rubbish around him, we need a left sided midfielder who will just get it in to box ASAP, at city he had that much talent around him he could slow it down, to the point the attack was restarting, but the quality could still pick a pass to a lethal striker who understood how to move around the box.

He’d possibly be better suited, for now, in the 10, because if we keep going on playing the way we are, where Ndaiye has dropped off a cliff since media attention and Grealish is nowhere near as influential as he was to start, then it’ll be more of the same.

We have to play faster, whether it be getting it in the mixer or our wide players shooting, but our two wingers are completely wasted with no full back support (in terms of attacking quality) and no strikers.
so when you get 2/3 players on our wingers as teams have realised we have nothing in Central attacking area to worry about. so they just double up and the attack comes to nothing

Exactly, possibly switching him centrally may help, he’s clearly a wonderful player, but we’ve seen this before, we had James, started like a house on fire and dropped off massively, as did our form.

Can’t criticise opposition for putting fires out via tactics, but very very rarely does having one supreme player carry an average team anywhere. Grealish, slowing 80% of our attacks down is evidence of that.

He might do more damage in the 10, free role behind the cf?

He’s assisted when he’s beat the man and put the cross in quick, which he ain’t done for a bit.

I dunno, maybe he’s getting fed up as it all feels very predictable currently, from all of them.

Illy is having the same problem on the right, I think they both need to be closer to the cf, two 10s.

3 cbs, wing backs with aznou maybe getting a go at rwb, garner and kdh cms.

Just something/anything different to current.

I think he's been, overall now after 12 games, quite good but not excellent. But in fairness, I don't really think anybody could look excellent with no full back supporting them and a single, League One-quality striker up front.

I don't generally like to see him slowing the game down so much and so often. He has it in his locker to take players on but he rarely does. Although again in fairness to him he probably knows that it'll come to nothing anyway due to what's around him in the team.

Being on the opposite flank to Illy, he only has 2 players he trusts, you can see it in his gameplay.

If KDH or Garner aren't in a forward pass position, he cuts back to find them.

Look, everyone, let's just be tactical wizards (I await the Merlin jokes) AFTER games. And, also, over-praise players when they have good games and slag them when they don't. 😎

Yep.

He's completely wasted out left. Doubled and tripled up on and not having much effect. And Ndiaye is more comfortable over there anyway.

It's a no brainer to hand Dibling his head in the same way as Moyes said he's handed Barry his for a few games, and that's your three in behind Barry.
