2025/26 Jordan Pickford

No cos alot of people dont rate him, he deserves his England caps cos he is Englands best keeper. Thats not a doubt. But he is still a bottom half keeper at very best. Phil Neville had 60 odd England caps and is in the top 5 worst players ive seen play for Everton.

I have said on here plenty my opinion why "some" Everton fans over rate him. I believe its because he was getting so much stick from the media they jumped to his defense and went the complete opposite and exagerate everthing he does Hes the only keeper i know who has shots right at him described as world class saves and "saving us from relgegation".
As a matter of interest, who's the other four?.

If his goalkeeping basics were some of the worst you’d ever seen in a keeper then I doubt he’d have 70 caps for England.
I think they are and don't forget he's got one of the best England teams since the 60s in front of him. I can think of many England keepers who's basics weren't as bad. Apart from when they kept getting picked when they were too old. As in Shilton and Seaman. And the few who did mess up, didn't last long. But I can't remember Pickford having a lot of basic things to do for England and he also seems a lot calmer when he plays for them than he does when he plays for us.

Each to their own and we all have different opinions, but to play over 300 games in one of the best leagues in the world, 80 odd caps and two major international finals for your country, he must be doing something right. He's an excellent keeper imo, not many better in England or Europe.
I'm sure JP would applaud this post, but, ya know... his arms can't reach an' all....... 🙄

Some of the comments on here are bizarre. Less than a week ago, we were lauding his performance at Old Trafford as one of THE great goalkeeping performances of all time.

The guy has kept more clean sheets in major tournaments for England than any other goalkeeper FFS.

It was truly shameful that we let him be barracked by the skunks fans and didn't say a word in return.

No, not shot stopping. I said he's good at shot stopping. I'm talking about the basics of goal keeping. Commanding your 6 yard box, claiming crosses. Gathering shots that come straight at you. Not rushing out like a looney and sometimes, half coming then going back.
The part of his game that really lets him down is when balls are played into the 6 yard box. He more often decides to stick to his line if there are players about and from that range if the ball gets directed towards the goal you`ve not got much time to react to stop it. The first goal should have been dealt with with a standard punch clear, but with a few Newcastle players running in front of him he stayed rooted to his line and had no time to react. The third goal he was in a tough situation with the 2 centre halves leaving the CF in loads of space, and the 4th was another cross that could have been claimed by the keeper, but if he won`t come and claim it in his 6 yard box he isn`t going to come further out to catch a cross.
