Happy St Andrew's Day to our Scottish brethren, today his his Feast day. Is it marked in any way by the population in general?
I know that this year the Scottish Churches, RC, Anglican and Church of Scotland give precedence to the Liturgy for the First Sunday of Advent, with St Andrew being marked tomorrow. Same happened in Ireland for St Patrick in 2024 as it fell on a Sunday of Lent, so liturgy moved to Monday 18th as did the civil holiday.
However, the Irish had their usual parades (and drowned the shamrock
etc) on the day itself, Sunday 17th. Probably had the cure on the Monday
