New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

People heading to that gig will be snarling up the Northern Line all day long and there'll be a lot of people mustering around the warehouse.

On a weekend when the Your Party conference is on and a Christmas Market it's beyond 'kin daft to let that go ahead about 500 yards from the stadium.
Of course we will see but from what I've seen events there are usually early start. For example glitterbox just after Christmas starts about 2.

Also lots will walk/get taxis

It's hardly good planning though is it?

How difficult would it be for LCC to tell them to find another day?

Looking at its website, after today and tomorrow that place has no major event on until next spring.

I disagree... It's exactly what we should be doing.

Yes, transport is not exactly there but you're talking about an event which is aimed at the 18-30 crowd. It's not a conference for old codgers. Everyone will find their way there with no issues I'm sure

Manchester, albeit with a better transport link had a concert at the coop arena and a match at the Etihad the same evening... That's 55k and 22k venues right next to each other. This is on top of an event at the arena plus a few other venues in the centre, all on the same day.

If Liverpool wants to be considered a top destination then multiple events all going on is a good thing.

Well, you said it: transport in one city is infinitely better than in the other.

My point.

Until that's sorted out having a venue attracting close to 55k (all told on the day) and one where upwards of 10k will arrive...all within 500 yards of each other and being serviced by a single rail line and poor bus connectivity is daft.

I'm not sure why anyone would think it isn't daft tbh.

You raise a good point, however I don't think there's that much in it.

Assuming everything sells out:

HD stadium 53000
Blackstone Warehouse 10000

63000 total

Etihad 54000
Coop live 23500

77500 total

Assume the merseyrail and Metrolink both run at full capacity.

4 car merseyrail trains hold max 1300 people including standing. Every 5 minutes in each direction. 24 x 1300 = 31000 per hour

Metrolink Max 400 people per tram. Every 3 minutes in each direction = 40 x 400 = 16000 per hour

What this shows is the public transport offer for both cannot move all the people. This is why lots of people walk from the Etihad/coop to Manchester centre after events. It works there and it'll work for us too.

When you factor in that today's events start and finish at different times you can see there's nothing to worry about

I've actually enjoyed my little research project here 😂

Which phone box is Corbyn's conference being held in?
