Manchester United

I was on the phone to my brother during the game last night and was saying trying to hold a lead away with 10 men is usually an impossible task but if it’s going to get done, it’ll get done because Amorim is an awful manager. How can you make 3 separate subs and still finish the game with a back 5?

He’s one weird manager.

He just point blank refuses to deviate from his one and only way of playing, even against a team with ten men.

They were constantly banging crosses in when we had Tarks, Keane and JOB in there who cleaned up anything like a decent cross (and an exceptional Pickford). Clear as day at half time he should have brought as much creativity up the pitch as he could. Most creative players were Grealish Ndiaye and KDH, thankfully

We were the better team with 11 men and equally as good with ten. As good as we were, though, that was a honking performance from them.

Amorim has a lot to answer for. Starting Zirkzee against Keane and Tarky, surely the only player slower and less mobile in the Prem that Keano. Allowed us to play a high line and press them up at the pitch. Persisting with three at the back was genuinely insane.

But players looked completely shell shocked from minute one. Simple 5 yard passes going astray. No desire off the ball. They just didn't respect us. Culture is clearly still rotten there

It has been very common to critique man utd for some fairly horrendous behaviours at managerial and exec/owner level. Story after story, greed upon greed.

But, pre game and HT last night they were pumping out Stone Roses tracks in memory of Mani dying last week. It was a nice touch and it was noticed by the majority. Not completely tone deaf to the sport, its roots and the connections with the community that are the stage for its (footballs) magnificence.
