2025/26 Idrissa Gana Gueye

He's apologised on social media, don't think much more needs to be said. If we'd lost tonight this footage would have been played back endlessly and reflected badly on Moyes aswell, and the shouts to Gana leave and Moyes to be sacked would have been much louder, but we won and there's a chance to brush it off so I hope it's a lesson for all involved. Big win tonight, more nights like this.

To be fair I didn’t blame him, I just stated what it looked like from the replay. It was Gana’s fault he got sent off, although I don’t think it was enough to be sent off.

There was nothing like any head pushing mate. It was all Gana this but the match thread is filled with loads jumping on Keane's back for a bad pass and a complete head loss from Gueye.

At least Gueye has owned up to it being his mistake. We move on.

He just loves the blues.

I think Moyes dealt with it brilliantly, you're correct the win means we can all move on fom this without too much more being said about it.
He's apologised, he'll be punished, we move on.

…..he made an error with the pass and tried to blame Keane for not retrieving it. I’d have been concerned if Keane stretched for it, he might actually give away a penalty.

Keane did well trying to chase Gueye away, he maintained his own discipline. So unlike Gueye to react like he did, he’s a top pro

Footy matters but I think Gueye was very wrong in wrongly assessing that situation and reacting like he did. Keane did brilliant not letting that moment adversely affect the rest of his performance, for that reason he was my MoM.

Saying all that, it’s another situation where football is all about the referee and I’m convinced had that been two defenders from certain other teams it wouldn’t have been a red.
Sky reckoned the VAR described the incident to the ref & he never saw much of it so he was told it was a red - who was in the VAR chair ?
