Relegation Thread 25-26

I personally dont like the reason/excuse the BBC final score few came up with at Half Time using Jota death as a reason for them been bad. They didnt use that after winning 1st league 5 games and 7 in total think it was

Exactly

They actually started the season quite well

They seem to be using that to cover up their own failings

I suppose it was an oversight not to have one of these on the go.

One win in 7 in the league isn’t great. We are 14th in the league without much momentum, the feel good factor has gone, we can’t defend a corner, our home record has just gone in the biggest defeat since Moyes returned, and we still no functional striker. Where are our goals going to come from??

Do I seriously think we will be relegated? Not really.
There are three teams struggling at the bottom, but one of those has just hired Sean Dyche so they will be safe by the end of the season.

Probably best to have a thread looking at the relegation scrap and hoping we can pull things around enough not to be in it, just to be in the safe side.
Looking at our games before New Year and no decent strikers, I'm thinking we will be just hovering above the relegation places. Would'nt surprise if panic buttons were pressed for signings and more goals.

You actually expect BBC pundits to make informed analysis when a simple reason can be given even as you say there's no solid logic behind it?

That's a big statement mate. They played well today, but if you look at their run post Burnley, it's very difficult.

Its interesting re Forest too, I looked at sides with 6 points and under after 10 games, most of them went down. I can't really see a world where both stay up.

Just checking back in.

Yeah as suggested, Forest aren’t in a relegation battle.

I would reserve judgement on Sean Dyche until things settle down a bit. A new manager usually has a bounce when he goes to a club, let us see where Forest are at the end of January. I was happy when Everton dispensed with his services, I believe he was on course to relegate us, I don’t think he is a manager who will move a club forward, he can help stabilise things for a period but then you need something fresh. I bear him no ill will, he has nothing to do with Everton, he is just the manager of another team that we need to beat.

Forest were always going to revert to their mean level of top half/European qualification. The fat cokehead crapped his huge undies after a bad start, but they have a squad that was never going to be anywhere near a relegation battle regardless of who the manager was, even Ange would’ve got it together there eventually. Nobody down at the bottom will be looking at their results as relevant to the relegation battle.

Unfortunately, I can see us picking up about 4-6 points from the next 6 games and be passed by Newcastle, Fulham and maybe even Forest and West Ham.

We might need to buckle up until after Christmas to get some clear daylight again from the bottom 5 and start looking toward where we are now and beyond.

It needn't be that way, but I think it will.

Don’t trust Villa today.
We should be hoping Leeds win here if we were looking to get up the table ourselves.

The likes of Villa should be our concern, not Leeds.

But I suppose that underlines where we still are under Moyes: the expectations have been dumbed down again with this ropey start to the season and his massive summer waste in spending.
