To be be fair all it took was one good session from Head and a couple of quick wickets from Boland and England where toast.

It was almost like watching T20.

Well that was a bit poo. So much for all the guff about adapting 'Bazball' to the situation, which they were pontificating about in the summer. There's absolutely no tactical awareness. It's all or nothing, and against against the top teams, the results speak for themselves : one test series won playing away from home since 2021 (Pakistan).

I don't think it's a fraud, but playing against Australia over there requires composure and being savvy, rather than being purely one-dimensional.

It's all well and good being aggressive when you have the momentum, but in these conditions, the ability to slow the game down and stay out there is key.

It's defo not suited for test cricket though, much better for one day/T20, as you said there is a need for being a bit more savvy/clever at test level.
