Sadly, I see our Scottish cousins appear to be "fulfilling their self-appointed role as tragic losers" (as Sean Connery used to say in G'Ole).
As for us, I am amazed we are in the qualifiers, so I'm not going to baulk at any opponent at this point. Very much a long shot for us to win two more games and qualify, but I wouldn't fear too many sides left. Certainly, Scotland would appear to be a better opponent for us than Denmark - though I'd make us underdogs. I reckon Poland and Turkey would have too much for us too, unless we're in Dublin. But I'd fancy a crack against Italy anywhere. But when you've beaten Portugal - far better than any side in the play-offs - and Hungary away in the manner we did, we'll happily play anyone. We shouldn't even be in the hat.
