Today’s Football 25/26 Season

Fair play to the Welsh. Doing a proper job tonight.

Sadly, I see our Scottish cousins appear to be "fulfilling their self-appointed role as tragic losers" (as Sean Connery used to say in G'Ole).

As for us, I am amazed we are in the qualifiers, so I'm not going to baulk at any opponent at this point. Very much a long shot for us to win two more games and qualify, but I wouldn't fear too many sides left. Certainly, Scotland would appear to be a better opponent for us than Denmark - though I'd make us underdogs. I reckon Poland and Turkey would have too much for us too, unless we're in Dublin. But I'd fancy a crack against Italy anywhere. But when you've beaten Portugal - far better than any side in the play-offs - and Hungary away in the manner we did, we'll happily play anyone. We shouldn't even be in the hat.

"Approaching injury time, Scotland FK delivered deep in the Denmark box, McTominay rises highest and puts it back across goal, there's a scramble and it's Adams he's headed it in on the floor, winner Scotland..."
