Most despised opponent

So many, hard to specify one!

Johnny Giles was a dirty rotten scoundrel, sneaky dirty - unlike Bremner, Charlton etc.

Son, cry baby assassin - gets away with loads because he isn’t that sort of player- erm no, he’s worse.

Shearer was always all elbows, as was the Bolton forward, forever whinging, but really giving it out- was it Kevin Davies?

A random one..

Played for mam city...just seemed to moan all the time.

Emlyn Hughes for his trying to set up a “ Everton are tragic” chant . At that time there didn’t seem to be the same level of animosity there is now.
That was the epitomy of cringe from that sad (redacted)
What kind of (redacted) (redacted) would think it was in any way normal to celebrate beating Munchen Gladbach in a European final by publicly leading 'Everton are tragic' chants at their 'celebrations'
As you say, that act was the start of the bad blood between the two sets of fans. Prior to that there was always 'banter' but that was just one step too far.
TBF a lot of their supporters and even Tommy Smith called him out for that.
Hope the squeaky voiced rat from Barrow rots in Hell with his mate Thatcher.

Suarez all day long, genuinely bad person.

However, I can't believe people are still salty over Son's challenge all these years later. Yes, it was a snide challenge but it's not the kind of challenge that usually results in a broken leg or serious injury, you see similar challenges every weekend, most of the time no one is getting injured. From memory the problem was with how he fell after the intial challenge, it was incredibly unlucky although obviously you could argue he never falls weirdly if he isn't fouled in the first place but fouling is a part of football.

I know there was the weird outcry of sympathy for Son rather than Gomes but that's not his doing, that's just internet weirdos doing their thing. You can see from his reaction he was pretty distressed about it, although im sure someone will try and claim he can cry on cue lol.

If Andre Gomes can forgive him within a day of the injury occurring I reckon some of our fans should maybe look at doing the same five years later or however long it's been.

Some of the players named above deserve hating but did at least do their best for their respective clubs.

However, I truly believe that Suarez was one of the most despicable players ever in British football. A fouler, a cheat, a diver, an unrepentant thug who revelled in his misdeeds - I believe he bit opponents at least three times.

If ever anyone argues that referees don't favour Liverpool, point to the fact that Suarez was never sent off playing for the RS.
