New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

The Echo are apparently running a story from an hour ago that the reason The Hole Punch Stadium wasn't considered for the Euros, like it isn't for any other major tournament, is because the pitch is too small.

Get on this @davek

In other news, Everton Football Club have hosted World Cup Final matches featuring some of the greats of world football and are set to showcase their magnificent new stadium at Euro 2028 while Anfield can at least boast it has hosted Taylor Swift and The Foo Fighters.
https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/why-anfield-liverpool-euro-2028-36238657 national press are too.. I do actually believe a big percentage of RS still believe the pit is a top venue in the world.

Is it the case that our stunning new home's capacity will be increased to 57,000 ahead of the Euros? Various relatives of mine who are members haven't been able to get tickets for league games.

As magnificent a stadium as our new home on the banks of the Royal Blue Mersey is, it's always been clear to me that 52k/53k just wasn't enough. Even Birmingham City is going for a 60k capacity.

How refreshing is it to see the stadium promoted for Euro28 without the ambulance chasers 💩 logo to be seen anywhere?

It's probably going to be the first time we consistently see views of the stadium like this instead of the other direction featuring a 'kin sewage works just so the H*** D******** name gets in every shot.

Hazy Doughnut?
Horn Daydream?
Hunk Detective?

Thats where the energy centre has been built for Mersey Heat. There will be no station being built there.

The actual solution, in my opinion, is mirroring Sandhills and having a separate north and south terminus, staffed and utilised only during events.

The land is already primed for a platform, as one used to be there.

4th post on page 1 for Sandhills Stn and Del-boy nails it...

LFC and it would be multi platform, minimum of 10 carriages every 5 minutes..

I thought that we might be in with a chance of a Quarter FInal but the logic they have gone with is fine with me. All the host Nations covered, which is a nice touch.

Dublin has it's problems, like every city, but there will be a lot of fans who will really enjoy Dublin, take a chance to visit other areas of Ireland, etc. It is not just about the Stadium, when considering whether the Aviva is a good choice for the latter stages, which it is.

Considering most of Ireland support either Liverpool or man united I guess they'll be supporting England too?

I think the restriction on height at that end was to do with light - residents were claiming that sunlight would be blocked out.

Ireland specialises in building three-sides stadia. Croke Park is a classic example. But Dublin will be a highlight for vistors during the Euros. Sorry, Brits, but we Irish do hospitality just that bit better. And we'll dress up in big green hats with red beards for an extra euro, too...
Thought struck me that a new station is needed to help with fans using the train.

Maybe only in use for 90 minutes either side of a match or major event.

For a long number of years, until 2005, trains stopped at a very basic Curragh platform on race days only. I see they now use Kildare and New bridge with complimentary bus transfer.

Some talk of trying to get 3rd party funding to reopen it.

Would a ppp work for BMD?
