I agree with almost everything, but I can't see any way whatsoever than a club looks at McNeil with £20 million and doesn't think there's far better out there.

The only thing you have going for you with McNeil is that his goal involvement is remarkably high given his limitations. You could make a decent argument that he'll chip in a few goals with that left foot and enough booming corners that it would make enough of a difference for a lower Premier League club to take a punt.

We’d be insane to sell him, and we are under no pressure to do so. He has a contract until 2029. I don’t think he’s itching to join another club either after his ‘dream move’ to Marseille. Doesn't mean a) an offer wont come in, or b) he sees his talent higher than the status of the club or wants to play CL or something. Im not saying we sell him, but I think it's prudent we have a few targets ready to go just in case rather than scrabbling around as usual
