2025/26 Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

12 tackles and 2 interceptions today apparently? Mental.

Also I like seeing him come deep to collect the ball more. Helps immensely with getting the ball up the pitch.
That being the key. He is better playing from deep. Great when travelling with ball with the game in front of him. Really good performance.

His best game. Definitely not a no. 10. His effectiveness until he shows otherwise will rely on the other players around him to provide creativity. We are in control of games when he plays there. We almost always lack cutting edge when he plays there. I do think Garner at RB makes a massive difference. If KDH is playing the 10, I would prefer we just went with another ball player at striker. Good assist. Great header from Keano. We will have to find out how much of a difference Garner makes at RB next week and see if we can keep the momentum going.

Looking at the pass maps for pitch position over the last few games and it's quite telling. Against Spurs he was further forward than everyone except Ndiaye, against Sunderland he was further forward than everyone except Barry - today he was deeper than Barry, Grealish, Ndiaye and even Gueye. Not even the furthest forward midfielder is quite a change.

What's interesting is he led the charge/press on a few occasions today.

I wonder if a player like Tim, who is that bit bigger/more athletic than Garner just helps Gana/KDH more? It certainly seems so today, but obviously we will need to see a bit more evidence.

Think we deserve an explanation of his disallowed goal today, shouldn’t forget about it just because we won.

Class today, robbed of a goal.
There was no way Barry was in the goalkeepers eyeline. He was stood to the right of the keeper as the ball nestled in the left hand corner. The view behind KDH shows Leno had perfect sight of it. Disgraceful it wasnt overturned.
