There's a school of thought...iirc, that both Royle and Kendall subscribed to...that if the manager has to go - and it's by no means a forgone conclusion, then mid December is your cut off date.
This;
A) gives the new guy time to weigh up the squad prior to the window.
B) thus any new manager tweaks, can give everybody a boost with the league pressure off in the FA Cup.

But in reality Moyes will keep scraping the odd win here, a draw there and stagger on to the end of the season
Yes, that's the most likely scenario. A spawny win on Saturday and I'd bet my house he'll be here all season. And that's ok with me - providing he is gone by May. However, if the Friedkins have a successor ready to come in, well, they'll have to back their judgement and get him in. What are we waiting for exactly? We're treading water at best right now. I'd actually live with that - but we're one more home defeat away from starting to drown. Moyes is not winning at Old Trafford... I suspect Moyes will do enough between now and Forest in a month to be out of the deep end - but there is definitely a plausible pathway to the sack for Moyes if he fails to win on Saturday.

I'd give him the season, he traditionally picks up results after Christmas.

If the new ownership has anything about them they'll be looking at his successor and building the squad to have more depth for a European push next season. I'm not holding my breath though.

Depending if they  Do have somebody lined up...and he's free to start

Like a bunch of over excitable kids, the old folks say "Not bad" when asked what they think because they have the wisdom of seeing it all before, many times over.

The question should be do we have good ownership and how are they doing with their decision making ?

The answer is "Not bad".

No.

Why would you do that. A mixture of carp squad, overhauled in the summer, to a point. Carp strikers, carp fullbacks.

Rome wasn’t built in a day friends.

I don’t think he will relegate us, he’s way better than the hoarse jockey we had previously, now at forest.

Not long term, sure, but to sack now?? Why??

And who would you have!?

A daft question at this point
Not sure but I do know that this post is very fishy.

West Ham have a lot more problems than the 'swapping managers' thing, there are massive power struggles there and off field issues, I don't think its a healthy environment.

Look at what Moyes achieved in such an environment, then? The obstacle of losing Rice was a tough gig, he's a generational player imo. Look at his performances this season for Arsenal. Moreover, West Ham fans moaned about the football on offer, but only the top 7 scored more than them in the 2023/24 season after Rice left. It was the defence that let them down, attributed to Rice imo. Granted, Moyes can take the burden for that, but as I've said previously it was a tough gig. He was also let down by the power struggle as you've highlighted yourself e.g. the owners in bed with particular agents. I mean, did he get full control of the Rice money?

My ultimate point is we must be careful what we wish for. I don't think this thread would have been considered could Barry and Beto finish chances. Granted, Moyes vetoed Barry, but would a new manager be the solution for their inadequacies?

Agreed on all this.

I think one thing I've settled on as a definite is he needs to amicably go the morning of May 25th.

We simply will not be able to attract the players we want with him as manager. The optics of playing style, how he treats younger players, it's all too much. Agents talk to each other and the agents of Dibling, Barry, Rohl and Aznou will be phoning Finch Farm every day right now asking what the eff is going on with the 'project' they were sold in the summer.

We are not a football club that wins trophies or are in any way primed to win trophies. Sorry for the brutal bombshell that people don’t want to hear. But it’s true. Our next manager choice should not be based on the size of his trophy cabinet that he’s amassed at whatever giant mega club he’s been at previously.

This fanbase needs a complete shake and a wake up call, and they need to be dragged kicking and screaming into the year 2025. We are 20 years behind everyone else.

West Ham spent a fortune whilst Moyes was there, mostly on rubbish(imo). The power struggle is nothing to do with agents, its about having the final say and nobody seems to know. He had 3 top half finishes and 3 bottom half, yes he won that cup and fair play to him but you ask any hammers fans and it was eye bleeding stuff much of the time.

I just wish for someone who can get the best out of the group of players we have and atm he isn't doing that and he isn't one of these guys who is going to rip the tactical rulebook up anytime soon. I don't really support changing managers mid season but Id be surprised if he gets much more leeway time, he needs to sort something and fast otherwise he will be under pressure and rightly so.
