2025/26 David Moyes

Who cares if he’s only 22? He needs to produce something. His incompetence late vs. Sunderland was shocking.

Across Southampton, Flamengo, and Everton, his averages have hovered around 0.1 goals/assists per 90 min, 1.2 key passes per 90 min, 5–6 progressive carries, very few tackles/interceptions relative to his position.
The reason it matters is that he's still developing as a player, and what's key for his growth is to have consistent opportunities to play which he hasn't, Moyes doesn't properly reward him when he excels. His incompetence? That's harsh he bungled an opportunity he also created when no one else was able to achieve anything positive in attack. That's the problem Moyes has instilled a culture of intense pressure so when Alcarez botched that moment he knows he'll probably get at best a 5 minute cameo again on Sat. Also tell me why KDH should start over him as a number 10 he hasn't exactly distinguished himself over the last couple games in that position?

Per minute, Alcaraz lags the average Premier League attacking midfielder in goals, assists, key passes, progressive carries and pass completion. He is way behind in tackles, interceptions and duels won.

These are simply the facts and no doubt are the reasons he finds himself stuck on the bench.

Tag the people in who said he was De Bruyne in the making first and then we will get to any other points you might want people to take seriously.

Obviously 2 winning away goals and an assist in the 2 games I mentioned are clearly not “production stats”.
I’m going to get into a debate over rhetorical hyperbole. I have said my piece on his actual production vs a few eye-catching flashes.

Also, he turns 23 in a few weeks.
Now, I'm confused.

Look at his output at Southampton and Flanengo. He just isn’t very good. A decent rotation option and that’s all.
I don’t think he’s a superstar, but deserves a chance in his actual position. KDH is not a 10 and has even said it himself. But as always with Moyes he’s more concerned with the opposition and plays is safe every week and older players will always get the nod

Alcaraz is obviously the key despite the fact he couldn’t get a game for Flamengo. He is the second coming of Kevin De Bruyne, it’s just nobody can see it.

Has he though? His production stats are very low. He lacks positional discipline and makes mistakes.

I suggest that you read back your posts.

You're putting forward utterly nonsensical statistics and comparisons.

It's very clear to anyone that you seem to love Moyes and/or KDH.

It's also clear that Moyes and KDH are not performing to anyone watching the games.

Piping up about Kevin De Bruyne or others who have not been utterly misused like Alcaraz is not a comparison.

The best comparison would be with players who turn a game as a 10 and are then used wide before being dropped. Later, randomly used for a handful of minutes or not at all.

Sadly there isnt a comparison to be made because other managers dont misuse players who save their neck like this.

He’s not a 10, he’s playing as a hybrid. Stats wise he is better both defensively and offensively than Alcaraz, which is probably why he gets picked ahead of him.

It’s funny how Flamengo also misused him. It must be every coach in the sport is out to hold him down from achieving star status. Or maybe he is just another flashy player who struggles to produce with any consistency?

The pattern has held true at Southampton, Juventus, Flamengo and Everton.

I doubt his stats are better and he’s got grealish alongside which Alcaraz has never had that
Opportunity. Apart from a handful of minutes.
Hybrid or not,
It’s not working but shock horror Moyes has no clue how to change it

Seeing as you seem to have watched him at Southampton & Flamengo, perhaps you could elaborate on this?

You can also find the information on lie if you havent actually watched him play at either team. Several posters commented on his play at Southampton for example.
