2025/26 David Moyes

Pochettino looking to get back to the PL.

Rather have Iraola or Glasner, but there's quality out there if Moyes gets moved on early.
Hopefully is something the club is looking at to get more of a clear structure. I still think moyes will prob get this season and next, of course will change if results go bad. Agree is quality out there and hopefully moyes can take us forward or leaves us in a better postion so the next manager can

It calls it a summer rebuild, but most weeks we are are starting with 9 players that were here last season (and struggled badly for much of it), so I don’t see why we would be doing much better.

(Not sure playing Rohl, Dibling or Aznou would be transformative either)
Alcaraz as well and he’s hardly had any minutes
And we won’t know until Moyes does.
Fulham at home is probably in the top 20% of our easiest games, if he starts with O’Brien and Myko as full backs,
Then he’s definitely not changing them anytime soon, unless because of an injury.

Will be interesting what Kinnear/TFG would think, finishing 15th/16th with the same old faces and only Grealish and KDH being regulars,
To finish in tbe same position while giving a lot of the new younger players more minutes as the season goes on. Could
Be difference of Moyes staying or going

Unless The 3 Amigos / The New hires...and by extension TFG are fast asleep they must realise now we have a Lame Duck Manager who is giving us yet another Lame Duck season.
Hopefully we win a few here and there...enough not to cause 'precipitate' action of the P45 / Taxi kind...drift on into June and Moyes will be profusely thanked for his efforts.
As was the plan all along honest see the nice bonus Davy? now everybody smile for the cameras

Alcaraz is obviously the key despite the fact he couldn’t get a game for Flamengo. He is the second coming of Kevin De Bruyne, it’s just nobody can see it.

Only when Alcarez gets regular opportunities he creates chances , provides assists and occasionally scores unlike KDH who just slows the play down. He's good player the problem is that Moyes has is unimpeachable favorites because he is an obstinate narrow minded dinosaur

Look at his output at Southampton and Flanengo. He just isn’t very good. A decent rotation option and that’s all.

Moyes averaged 57 points in 11 full seasons in his last spell at the club.
Martinez got 72 points in his 1st season which would have got you champions league for past 10 seasons.
You could argue Martinez inherited a good defence but the difference is you had a manager willing to take risks.
I don't dislike Moyes but i doubt he will get us pushing for Europe anytime soon.
I say this every time it comes up but the amount of points you get in any given season is only relevant in the context of that season. Finishing 1st with 90 points is better than finishing 2nd with 100.

You're aware he's only 22? I think he's demonstrated he can offer alot to this club attacking wise, just look at what his presence provided when we played Crystal Palace. Alcarez played a significant role in altering the momentum of the game, but he needs to be positioned centrally , moyes doesn't always accommodate.

Who cares if he’s only 22? He needs to produce something. His incompetence late vs. Sunderland was shocking.

Across Southampton, Flamengo, and Everton, his averages have hovered around 0.1 goals/assists per 90 min, 1.2 key passes per 90 min, 5–6 progressive carries, very few tackles/interceptions relative to his position.

Also, he turns 23 in a few weeks.

People are forgetting that we had other buyers! Not least Bell and Downing. Also I think it will be instructive what’s going on with Roma managers and what happens re Moyes. Then we’ll be in a better position to assess their ambitions.
Did you want George downing owning Everton ? Not to say he’s not good company or great to have a beer with but owning Everton ?

Please tag in everyone who has said this.
He might be no great shakes but he has shown for Everton that he can contribute when given the correct opportunities, he certainly did last season (notably Palace and Newcastle away) so what does his time at Flamengo have to do with anything?

Has he though? His production stats are very low. He lacks positional discipline and makes mistakes.
