Sell £50M worth of talent; wipe out the bulk of debt; put the club up for sale and hope an enterprsing owner comes up with the cash to pay the ransom money Kenwright demands for his and his co-conspirators shares.

That's a plan better than the one we have in place now.

I'm not trying to be funny, but finishing where they did in this league with a settled bunch of players is minimum. If we'd had the EL to contend with we'd have finished below where we did.

And we know we'll finsih there again next season and the season after that (if a half-decent transfer window along the way is allowed to balance out the inevitable sale of players). If there's credit in being consistently mid-table then yeah, I suppose this is creditable.

I don't think we will finish there again next season. All hinges on the summer because imo we could've easily finished lower.

Until we change the board and sell up, I think we are gonna be in limbo for a long time and not going any further

wont find any of those muppets anywhere near a computer haha, can only afford season tickets with their benefits

Thing is we always finish the season well and we then think we are going to be boss next season - and we arent, unless not consistently.

WE have a strong spine and decent first eleven but we need numbers and better balance in the squad.

What happens when Jelavic can't play? Who will play wide right?

Exactly.

Still waiting for the news McFadden has signed a new contrcat
Andy Johnson fills in lad.

Davek, out of interest, what would your expectations be for next season?

I can see your reasoning to a point that finishing 7th is hardly awe inspiring but my expectations prior to the season (which basically were to finish top 8 and to make a Cup final) were just about met, bar a dismal 2nd half performance in the semi, I would say I was fairly satisfied with our finishing spot given our financially problems. Most seasons 7th would have given us a good shout of EL tho (whilst I miss the Euro nights) its probably a blessing in disguise that we missed out as the squad just isnt deep enough for the extra fixtures it comes with.

Newcastle will have Europe next season and therefore have a rubbish PL campaign - nailed on. Liverpool wont have a worse one than this, so they cancel each other out. The Stokes and Fulhams of this world we can still hold off (just).

It's been this way for a few seasons now and I cant see it fundamentally changing. The league table is pretty much set in stone. If Everton start well first half of the season, expectation will be too heavy to sustain a top 5/6 place. If we start slow again we'll recover.

We need to break this cycle because it's killing us.

Posted on this above mate ^^^.

If we only start the season the way we end it then who knows where we could of been on a plus though we are looking down on the red sh*te

DaveK mate if we sell 50 million of talent - we will indeed break the cycle - by being relegated

Maybe, maybe not. This league is pretty **** if truth be told. Sell Fellaini, Baines and Jagielka and we'd still survive with places to spare.

I'd rather take a chance on new owners who may change things for the better than sit around for another decade of mid-table finishes waiting for Kenwright to start another stadium project (somewhere in ****ing Yorkshire probabaly next time).

Absurd statement.
