2025/26 David Moyes

Christ, we saw JOB at centre preseason vs Bournemouth and he’s was disastrous. If O’Brien was good enough he would already have been moved, but the coaching staff clearly don’t think he is up to it at this stage, id he ever is.
Laughable, basing it on a single preseason game. He's playing international at centre half FFS. If we wrote everyone off who had a bad preseason game in the summer we wouldn't have anyone on the pitch

Yeah, there we go. Whatever I proposed would've got this response from you.

Do you think we're doing well? Do you think we're playing well? Do you think the manager has the squad properly prepared for the matches? Of course you do, because you won't acknowledge that Moyes is capable of making mistakes. It's weird how much you stan for Moyes even after the tripe that's been served up since the Wolves cup match.
We played really well for much of the first half, I was as angry as anyone when he brought on McNeil. Really have no idea what he was playing at with that one as Dibling should be capable against Sunderland. That said, we don’t know how he has taken or if he has settled in yet. He had trouble with that before.

i think we are all rightly very frustrated after last night but calls for him to be sacked are nonsense

let’s just carry on being a barmpot club giving managers millions to spend and sacking them after 10 games

you all sound like babies, this is what deliveroo and justeat has done to society, eroding the last scrap of patience we all had

he needs to try something new, he needs to get better out the players

he also has two strikers that can’t trap a ball, beat a man or hit the target

he’s taken a club on the brink and given it hope back

got brilliant form out of ndiaye and brought a player of Grealish’s class to the club

lets not all wet the bed
Most people - even those of us who never wanted him back and/or thought he should have been replaced last summer - want him to hang on until next summer.

Unless the Friedkins have their Plan A choice ready now - and I very much doubt they even have a plan - then replacing Moyes now makes little sense in the long run. Of course, if Moyes plays himself out of a job by December that's a different matter. He needs a win - starting on Saturday. He'll take his knife to the Old Trafford gunfight after that, so that leaves Newcastle at home and then Bournemouth before the Dyche Derby to steady the ship. You'd back him to do enough, but failure to beat Fulham leaves him vulnerable into December. Newcastle and Bournemouth both look difficult in different ways to beat. He can't be going into the Dyche reunion still waiting for a win...

I’m giving him the rest of the season. How many times did Moyes mk1 get off to disappointing starts (like this one) or genuinely bad starts, and then pull it together later? Must have been at least 5 or 6.

I believe he will only have a year left on his contract come May so he might step down at that point anyway.
Agree. No point getting rid yet, but he needs to change things as we have gone stale.

Different world and league now. And he’s been left behind

Oh, I couldn't take another year of this.

The coffee slurping at press conferences is too much - never mind the football...

Newcastle were shocking at the weekend.

Premier League is a higher standard than international. Ireland are, frankly, dreadful.
We've seen enough of JOB to be pretty certain he'd be fine at centre half in the Premiership. He's coping fine defensively at right back just doesn't offer much going forward. Only someone with blinkers on, desperate to defend Moyes would say otherwise.
