2025/26 Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

I don't know if the lad's any good.

Still early days and being played out of position (apparently).

Was that position priority for us, given we don't have decent striker/full backs?

He is without doubt a good player. He is not being used right by Moyes. I feel we have a half team of decent players and half team of bog average players. First step to improve out of transfer window is use the players in there best positions. If something isn't working during the game then be flexible and interchange the players who can play in different positions (Grealish, Ndiaye, KDH for example).

I was excited when we signed him and enjoyed his ability to control a ball to begin with, which was a big step up from Duke.

But it turns out that he doesn't shoot, doesn't press well, loses possession with his telegraphed passes and isn't particularly creative.

I'm not sure why people think he'd be better playing further back - does he have experience of playing that kind of role?

I wonder whether he's actually just a bit naff.

He's one of our main problems at the moment, but not because he's not good

He's just not a 10, and that's what he's being forced to play

Ideally he's in a midfield two. But who do you drop? Garner has been very good this season in my opinion. Gana, while not as great as last year, is still doing what he does. The problem could be solved by playing Jack or Ndiaye through the middle with Dibling on the right (if he was ready). That would be our ideal formation given the current crop of players we have. I'd bring Alcaraz on as a sub anywhere in the front 4 to just wreck shop up there, he's a total wildcard in the best possible way off the bench

Yes he is a number 8. This season I still think he has been one of our better players. The number 10 spot is made easier when you have players ahead of you that can make runs and space. Statues are not condusive for a number 10

I’m just not seeing it with him at the moment. Considering how high up he is playing he offers us very little going forward. And I’d worry about his lack of pace & physicality if he played as one of the two central midfielders.
