2-3, Beto Hat trick

You would have to say, going on form, that Sunderland are a better side than we are. They should expect to win this one. If David Moyes goes into the game with the same team as he has been playing then you would have to fancy them as we are toothless with Beto up front. Surely we have to try something different, try a different attacking approach. I don’t see us producing a new centre forward with the ability to play in the Premier League so it has to be a different formation. I would try

good plan... we're gonna sneak the eleventh man on when the ref's not looking eh!...i like it

We have big selection problems for tomorrow but of the right sort.

Only Arsenal have conceded fewer goals than us, at Chelsea we played a flexible five at the back. Three central defenders with two sort of wing backs. This resulted in one or more of the centre backs free to roam forward with the ball. While Hume at right wing backs moved inside to a central midfield position, not down the wing, which meant we had numbers in the middle allowing midfielders to have more freedom to roam.

The problem we have is that we were missing arguably our best defender due to concussion protocols, so where do we fit him in, especially if we are going back to four at the back.

We have a lot of new players who we didn’t know a lot about and fans of other clubs still don’t know about. Of these new players the one to look out for, apart from the obvious Xhaka, is Sadiki, this young lad is fast and never stops, he is all over the pitch closing down winning the ball, winning over 90 of his challenges so far this season and being able to pass the ball to another team mate. The last of those has been a rare skill in recent years!

In Roefs we have signed a keeper who in his short time looks to be the best we have had, possibly since Jimmy Montgomery, early days and he might not live up to his great start.

Mukiele, who we signed from PSG has been outstanding across the back line as well as going forward. His goal against Wolves was an example of how flexible the formation is, playing a one two in the opposition box while playing left back, with his fellow right back, in open play.

Reinildo Mandava, the first Mozambique international to play in the Premier League , has been outstanding across at right back, apart from his stupid kick out after being fouled by a Villa player.

There others I could mention, but the really exciting thing is that a team with so many new players from different leagues has settled so quickly and is looking better with each game.

So I think we might just have a chance to finish 17th .

I was watching the spurs v chelsea game yesterday. We were physically steamrolled by Spurs. Chelsea were well up for the fight. Both teams strong and quick . We are on both these fronts sadly lacking…

Well yes exactly that, as that’s how you gauge how the other 30 games will go. Unless you think Newcastle won’t finish in the top 12. (Hint - they will)

I think we have 14th or 15th best squad.
So, hows Newcastle doing with that great squad?

Anyway, I was responding to someone who basically said points were what mattered(when we are only 9 matches in), then you decided to jump in and disagree with me...and my view that squad matters more since there are 30 matches left.

got offered a ticket for this but monday night … can’t make it

not a chance but now they have friday and saturday night 8pm games, any chance of these mondays being binned off

keep your mnf but just do analysis and chat of the weekends action
