Old Photos Of Where You Live

The image shows a comparison of the same location in Everton, Liverpool, between 1835 and 2021. The location is known for the "Everton Lock-up" and the "Old Toffee Shop."
The top image is a painting from 1835, showing the Everton Lock-up and the Old Toffee Shop, with several buildings and a street scene.
The bottom image is a photograph from 2021, showing the same area today. The buildings have been replaced with a grassy park, but the Everton Lock-up, a small, circular stone building, is still visible.
The Everton Lock-up, also known as Prince Rupert's Tower, is a Grade II listed building and a local landmark.
The comparison highlights the significant urban development and changes that have occurred over nearly two centuries.

No
I can't do it
It's in memory of my late father who died in his 50s with bowel cancer ...

At the age I was yes I believed in Father Christmas I was only at my infants school & my late father used to call in see the teacher & only the next morning he would tell me - no school today we are going somewhere special & to the pictures afterwards ... he did it to all of his 3 children as their were age gaps so individually he took us down there ... until he told us he never existed which I sort of guessed as I found hidden presents in the house :D -

As the photo shows it was a fantastic display a proper Grotto .... & store....
